I'm trying to get multisite working on a shared host with a shared ssl certificate. I can't figure out how to access the sites using an ip address. For instace if I want to access the site normally I'd just type in the domain of site2 and since its an addon domain I set the root to the main domain and drupal pops up. But how can I access domain2.com using https://111.1.111/~username format? This will take me to the main domain and not domain2 but that is how I access sites using the shared ssl provided by hostgator. If there any way to access an addon multisite domain using a shared ssl certificate?
Thanks for you help.

Sorry it took me awhile to respond, hard drive crash kept me busy. Thanks, I'll try out your trick to see if I can get it to work.
