Come to FrOSCon - I'm presenting your projects

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

How many SoC students are planning on being at FrOSCon? I know that Gábor and Balazs will be there. Who else can come?

I'll be presenting everyone's projects on Saturday (the 25th), and what I actually say or show will depend somewhat on you =) If you don't have a demo site online, please consider making one by then. If you provide me with materials to help present your work, I will use them. I will almost certainly stop short of installing and testing all 20 projects' code, simple due to time constraints, so your help in preparing materials and test/demo sites is needed.

I'll be doing the same @ Drupalcon Barcelona

So if you could respond here with your stuff, that'll help both of us. :D Additionally, we can put the test URLs in a front-page post on Drupal.org next week so that folks can see and test the fruits of your labour all summer. :)

Cannot make either...

I will not be able to make either FrOSCon or Drupalcon, but at your request I will be happy to setup a demo site and a little documentation. Thanks for presenting my project!

XMPP

I'll be at home enjoying the last few days before start of the fall semester. However, my demo site is located at http://soc2007.mxwerx.com. Right now I'm using it to test the module admin interface. By this upcoming weekend I'll have the modified subscriptions module installed. You'll be able to select IMs as the delivery method, subscribe to some story, then get notified by your XMPP client when a new reply is posted. The library I wrote has more examples, such as the echo client, but that was meant to be run via PHP CLI. If you want, I can show you how that works.

not FrOSCon but Drupalcon

Posted by mh86 on August 15, 2007 at 5:05pm

I'm not going to be at the FrOSCon, but in September I'll be at the DrupalCon in Barcelona :)
Of course, a demo site and some documentation will be provided.

Whoa, interesting

I'm not going to be at FrOSCon, but I'll be at the Drupalcon. As for the demo site, that's not completely straightforward as my hoster doesn't provide me with CVS or even a remote shell. I can make a copy of my local database though - you may miss out on getting commits denied :D but the commit log and some admin screens should not be too bad either.

Oh, and one more thing

Posted by jpetso on August 15, 2007 at 4:49pm

Will you put up your slides? Being the narcistic bastard that I am, I'm always appreciating public mentions of myself ;)
Anyways, you'll get a final roundup article in time for FrOSCon.

No FrOSCon or Drupalcon for me

I will not be able to make either as I was just in Europe for school last semester which drained my funds. I will put up a page describing my project as it is pretty much complete minus bug fixes and such.

I will prepare material on DAST

Posted by allisterbeharry on August 21, 2007 at 7:38am

I will definitely be prepare slides and material for you guys on DAST - it's a CLI app so no demo site possible but you can set it up on a server you have SSH access to. What I can do is write a doc with screenshots showing DAST in action - specifically using it to automate building a Drupal site for benchmarking using webchick's HowTo. I know its froscon getting close, Robert could you give some deadlline dates and more details on how/what you want us to do.

I think DAST is a really important project because there are very few Drupal build management tools and apart from developers and testers, corporate IT types like to know about change management tools - having a tool like DAST that lets admins create a formal process for building testing and staging their sites would definitely win Drupal points with the suits. Jonathan and the guys at workhabit and have been preaching the same thing: http://www.workhabit.org/change-management-and-drupal-autopilot-news and are also working on a similar project - Drupal Autopilot http://drupal.org/project/autopilot ...apparently they released their alpha yesterday the 20th...coincidence? :)
