Is it possible to migrate site between servers?

Hi all,

Sorry for possibly silly question, I'm just starting with Aegir.

I'd like to know if it is possible with the latest 0.4-alpha6 version to achieve the following:

I have root-access to:
1. development server with several vhosts, where I do development, try things out, debug and so on.
2. production server, where I put live sites.

Here's what I need:
I constantly update some things on production sites: edit and translate content, fix views, fix some templates. For that I dump all data and zip site, download to development server, modify and then put back to production. Tired of that.. %)

Can I use site migration feature to dump whole site to my dev-server and load it back to prod when it's fixed?
If yes, then could someone, please, advice how to do that or point me to somewhere in docs to read.

Thank you!

Yes, I did. Tried that on 2

Yes, I did.
Tried that on 2 virtual machines.

I guess I might achieve what I want if I download backup of a production site and restore it on dev-server.

If I don't change database I could create a new platform on production-server and migrate a site to it. But if data was changed I still need to perform steps that I do without Aegir: download site, unzip, restore database dump.

Just wanted to confirm that there is no way with Aegir to migrate a Site from one webserver to another.

Not yet, but

keep an eye on 0.4. I believe migrating between webservers and dbservers is on the roadmap for 0.4.
