how long is a release system allowed to describe itself as new?

Yeah, I've already started writing this as the "New [sic] release system" in my d.o postings and devel list emails on the topic. ;)
In fact, I was thinking that maybe this group is stupid, and I should just re-classify all the content over into the http://groups.drupal.org/issue-tracking-and-software-releases group.
Doesn't seem like there's much value added by keeping them separate.
Thoughts?
