Boa installed in Ubuntu desktop

Hi. Briefly, my question is if Boa is suitable to use locally with Ubuntu in its desktop version or if it only should be used with debian or ubuntu server.

After Boa is installed, I've noticed that the main user running the desktop no longer has permissions to do almost anything. Something similar to what happens here: https://github.com/omega8cc/boa/issues/296, which in my case lead to "The system is running in low-graphics mode" error after rebooting, both in Virtual Box and in an dedicated machine installed with Ubuntu 14. I think it's great that Boa sets those levels of permissions but if there is a way to be able to run the desktop it would be much more easy to use.

I've tried adding the desktop user to the "users" group as pointed out in that issue but that didn't help. The user now has bash permissions but the low-graphics mode error persists. It seems that there are directories that are not readable by that user and maybe some other permission issues that is causing that error. I've tried a lot of things but with no luck so I thought maybe ask here before giving up about using the desktop version of Ubuntu.

Thanks!

I've changed to Ubuntu server and access it through host-only adapter, from my host machine. This way the server is more secure and faster I guess.
Thanks anyway
