drupal 7: changing the site default language when the site is buildt

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

hello

i know that i shouldn't change the site default language once the site is build because it gives problems, but my client changed his mind and now wants to change it.

please, can you give to me tips to be able to do it?

why would they want different defualts?

I'd suggest you look into https://drupal.org/project/fallback_language_negotation if they want to have a different default display language. Any other reasons they want a different default?

Dose not solve every use case but a if it does easy to implement - On sites where the language code is part of the url we have used a server redirect from the homepage to the default language url.
