Submitted project idea: content recommendation engine

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Just put a project proposal into the bin: http://drupal.org/node/61877. I'm not sure how much it would overlap with the 'similar entries/context' proposal, and the 'social network analysis' proposal, but I think it has a lot of merit as a free-standing project. Thoughts and possible improvements appreciated.

similar entries

This sounds like an extension to similar entries, using highly rated nodes as the FULLTEXT MATCH() seed instead of or in addition to the currently viewed node. Similar entries is all MySQL FULLTEXT dependent, though. I'm biased towards liking FULLTEXT for its natural language search, but I spose it might be interesting to see what the Drupal search engine does when you throw node-length search strings at it.

One part, yes...

I can definitely see how the 'nodes like the current node' aspect of it would be similar to that. The 'Nodes that other people who share your tastes also like' feature is something I haven't seen discussed, though.

Overlapping: Yes (but that's good)

I think this will overlap.

Our both ideas have to do with context-building and a subset of Web 2.0.

I call it: Intelligent Web Apps ;)

Maybe we should combine these 2 Ideas.
