The code for the SecondLife framework is ready, but cannot be released right now.

The firm that sponsored it need to launch their site first, which uses the framework plus an application that uses it. When that happens, I can release the code out to the community.

There is no accurate estimate for when this will be, but it will be anywhere between one month and three months away.

I'm waiting to hear back on the release as well. Finishing up something for O'Reilly on this, would like to include the framework, but...

It would be fantastic to use the Second Life framework for Drupal! Unfortunately, the latest post in this discussion is a bit old, so are there any news and updates about the current state of development?

Hi Duval

I have been waiting for this as well. I remember that there was one other effort in this direction that never made it to module status, but if you do a search you may be able to find the other drupal developer working on this.

thanks for your interest in (and patience in awaiting) the SL framework we've been developing in partnership with 2bits. I'm afraid release has gotten a little tangled at our end thanks to some related development work -- we're hoping to have it out soon, but can't give a specific date. We'll keep you all posted.

I tossed out the SLFeed module in pre-release

Posted by Taran on August 22, 2007 at 12:43pm

It has actually been well tested for about 6 months, but... I've been getting pressure from a few different angles to release some things, so I did a pre-release pending a more formal release which includes an inworld linked object for display - probably where the majority of the code is anyway.

Simple module. SLFeed.

More stuff as testing completes (and as people chase me with sharp pointy prims)

Finally, it is released!
