Using VOIP Drupal module to send simple SMS message

I am using the Drupal 7 version and cannot figure out if there is a way to send simple SMS messages using either tropo or twilio. I can send an SMS message from a call but just want the ability to send SMS directly.

Have you already tried the function voip_text($text, $voipcall) defined in voip.module (http://drupalcode.org/project/voipdrupal.git/blob/refs/heads/7.x-1.x:/vo...)?

I believe it does what you are looking for...

That is just what I needed. I did find the functions yesterday and used it to send text message using twilio but was unable to get it working with tropo. Will be doing some more testing today.
