What solutions have people had most success with in creating hierarchical sites with Drupal? In my experience, users don't find the 'Menu settings' section on the node edit form at all intuitive.

Among different approaches I've seen are:

Hi Alex,

One of the sites we're working on at the moment is using taxonomy to create a hierarchy.

I've a vocabulary with predefined terms so that when content editors enter content of any type they select which section it goes in. The content of each section (stories, videos, links, pics, etc.) are displayed in views inside panels.

Node hierarchy looks interesting, and sounds like it's doing what I'm doing so will need to check it out.

I may be wrong, but I thought the book module just allowed you to add pages to a book in a hierarchical structure, ok if you don't want lots of different node types I guess.
