I often come across job postings that are in inappropriate groups and don't know where to stick them. Usually I stick them here but I wonder if that's wanted? This is a discussion group, not just a dumping ground for jobs.
I'm wondering if making a group "Marketplace" or some such would be a better idea? Then we would have a group that's purely for seeking and selling your Drupal services and not intended for discussion.
Or shall I just continue dumping them here? Am I making an issue where there is none?

I support that Idea. This will help those who look for jobs or offering services and those who look for such services or providing employment.

what will be the difference between it and the Drupal Jobs (http://groups.drupal.org/jobs) group? Renaming the Drupal Jobs group to Marketplace may be another way.

The jobs page is a list of all jobs across groups, it's not a group itself.
IMO the consulting/business group is the right place for a job that is off-topic somewhere else, but I'd be OK with creating a group specifically for jobs if folks feel strongly that we need it.

Job postings = opportunities
Job postings = opportunities to get money = to bring your best of Drupal into the best of your everyday world = they have to have some extra status, so if there is some bulk postings - let it be, because it is too sensitive topic for those not having guaranteed income. I like the way it is now.

I don't agree
Having the same job posted 4 times in multiple off topic groups (which is what brought me here) is just annoying. There is no need to post in bulk. One post, in an appropriate place, should be fine.
If people are ok with this being the place, that's fine by me. I just wanted to double check with those who may be trying to use this for discussion.

I suggest we move this discussion there, since folks who manage g.d.o will get better visibility into this issue & discussion. I consider it a real problem I'd like to solve.
