DrupalCamp bilingual

Posted by -enzo- on March 9, 2009 at 12:48pm

Hello folks

Even many people couldn't talk or understand English, reject these conferences will be a bad idea, people could attend because these conferences, will be so technical.

I guess will be a good idea record these conferences and load with subs in this way we could check again and understand the details we don't understand.

Best regards

We are planning to film all

Posted by xamanu on March 9, 2009 at 7:13pm

We are planning to film all sessions. Since it is a community conference I hope that there will be people volunteer and doing some subtitling (Spanish to English and English to Spanish, for all sessions done in English).

I really think it is a great idea to do sessions in English and I totally agree with Eduardo that probably everybody will at least now some English. As well I think subtitling sessions in both languages to another one will help to get all people together.
It looks like that there are people interested from all over (Central America, Brazil, Trinidad, Peru, Germany, Spain, USA) so we really like to welcome everybody and hope that all can come to enrich the event.

If we can help you providing information and bureaucratic support (eg with the visa) please don't hesitate to contact us!

I can probably come to give

Posted by xamount on March 9, 2009 at 7:36pm

I can probably come to give a presentation on " A beginners guide to taking a template and turning it into a Drupal site" but I don't think I can finance this trip myself (especially as I just went to Drupalcon in DC). are their any scholarships being given out?

Sponsorships

Posted by xamanu on March 10, 2009 at 4:40am

We are really happy to announce that Growing Venture Solutions is going to sponsor a couple of scholarships to DrupalCamp Centroamerica.

If you would like to attend DrupalCamp Centroamerica but you can't afford to travel, now you can apply to a scholarship (http://www.drupal-centroamerica.org/solicitar/beca).

Hello people

Xamanu, you have a deadline to propose new conferences, becuase I'm looking resources from my employer to attend this event with some partners, and maybe we could contribute with a presentation about how create Drupal themes.

@-enzo-
Would be good to have you participating! Your session proposal is great.
The event is going to happen on the 18th of April and everything is set, the Universidad Centroamericana in Nicaragua is going to host us.

@xamount@drupal.org
Unfortunately we don't have sponsorships right now. We were thinking about this possibility but we couldn't get sponsors for this, yet. We are still in contact with some people and we hope that we can get money together to offer at least a couple of sponsorships for "Drupaleros" from Central America.
I'll let you all know if there are any news.

Hello Xamanu When I said we

Docs

Posted by add1sun on March 10, 2009 at 1:09pm

I would love to come down and do a doc sprint/session! Hopefully by then I'll have a better idea about some of the i18n stuff we'd like to do and maybe we can have a translation party as well as just straight doc work. Unfortunately my Spanish is pretty useless at this point so I'd definitely have to present in English. I'm also totally interested in the Sunday trip. Woot Central America!
