Are there any obvious problems when thinking about attempting to deploy a BOA instance on FreeBSD.

I realize there will be need to be paths changed and dealing with the package management. I'm curious if anyone has tried this or sees any other issues I should consider.

Quite a bit of work

I am no expert, but I imagine that converting BOA to work with a FreeBSD would be a lot of work. Many of the Barracuda components are not installed from packages, they are built from source. The scripts take care of this, but are designed to work with not only Linux, but a limited set of Linux distributions (mostly Debian based). I think you would have to re-write a large part of it to get it all in the right place and using the right tools for FreeBSD.

FreeBSD!? . . . OpenBSD!!

C'mon . . . don't be a wimp . . . if you're going to port it, port it to OpenBSD!
