Pre-Camp activities
This year BADcamp is planning on offering a bunch of pre-camp Drupal activities, including a day-long FREE Drupal training workshop, the West Coast Core Dev Summit, a Non-Profit summit, and a Higher Education summit. Come participate on Friday October 21st.

What is BADCamp? For those of you new to Drupal or Drupal camps, BADCamp, inspired by the BarCamp events, is a medium sized gathering of like minded people to discuss and learn about Drupal, an open-source content management system that is powering more and more of the web every year. Come to share ideas, get involved in the community, and meet in person: the people you see so often online. BADCamp is an event put on by the people, for the people and with the help of some friendly sponsors. Some of your favorite, dedicated, Drupal developers will be joining us this year, so don't miss out!

Posted by dboeger on May 26, 2011 at 10:14pm

Remember guys and gals this isn't until October, I'm betting Reg won't open til at least August. I'm sure Jen will let us know when it's good to go.

already full?

Posted by mototribe on June 1, 2011 at 2:31am

the site says it's limited to 500 registrations and there are about 500 people listed as attending.
I would hope that's not the case ...

2010

Is that just the 2010 shown as full? No regis yet shown for 2011?

The site hasn't been created

The site hasn't been created yet. It's just last year's information.

2011 Registration not open yet

Posted by michellezeedru on June 1, 2011 at 3:37am

That was 2010 registration - we have quite a bit more room this year.

BAD Camp is becoming a corporate giant? LOL.

I have no inside info, but my guess is it won't be moved over.

COD limits

Posted by niccolox on June 1, 2011 at 4:59am

its one of the fundamental limitations of COD.

you cant build-up an event community year after year, it cant handle more than one event

This is true, COD currently

Posted by greggles on June 1, 2011 at 12:25pm

This is true, COD currently focuses on a single event.

The current "best practice" is to archive your camp site and then create the new site or at least a placeholder page at the ongoing camp URL.

registration open?

Posted by blg@bgreenaway.com on August 7, 2011 at 4:46pm

You do plan to open registration at http://badcamp.net and not somewhere else?
If registration is somewhere other than in previous years, there will be issues if people don't get in because it sells out and if you haven't explained where they should be signing up.

I'd love to attend, and I don't want to miss registration.

Registration at http://badcamp.net problems

Posted by mmdavis on August 5, 2011 at 7:50am

I realize I am an early bird or late bird depending on your perspective, but the site still has a lot of 2010 info and isn't set up to allow registrations for those of us that missed BadCamp last year. It didn't recognize my userid, or email address so obviously doesn't use the same info as drupal.org or drupal groups. I DEFINITELY do not want to miss it this year. :)

Thanks,
Mary

Saw your note & it's doing

Posted by Techivist on August 5, 2011 at 8:02am

Saw your note & it's doing the same for me. I'm sure the organizers/devs will "turn it on" at some point today since Jen Lampton mentioned above signups start today (sometime). I feel your pain, tho, I don't wanna miss it either. :)

Coming Soon

Posted by mrf on August 5, 2011 at 4:19pm

Watch for a new site with a new look, you're still seeing last year's site.

There is a lot more space this year than there was last year, so it shouldn't fill up before the end of the weekend. :)

Is it open yet? I logged on

Posted by Sborsody on August 6, 2011 at 7:08pm

Is it open yet? I logged on using my old account yet do not see anywhere to register.

I just checked again & it

Sorry for confusion: http://2011.badcamp.net

Posted by jenlampton on August 15, 2011 at 6:04pm

Hi guys,

Sorry for all the confusion. Registration this year is at http://2011.badcamp.net, but we added a redirect on Monday from badcamp.net to the 2011 site. (You can still get to last year's site at 2010.badcamp.net)

Please register, create sessions, create lightning talks, and sign up for the non-profit and higher education summits!

I'm going. Planning on

Posted by todd zebert on October 16, 2011 at 6:11am

I'm going.

Planning on driving up Thurs and back Mon. I'm not staying close - near the Haight.

If anyone wants to split the ride let me know.

Please Add to the Rideshare Chart

Posted by CrystalWilliams on October 16, 2011 at 6:25am

Hi Todd,
Check out the rideshare map/chart we have on the site: http://2011.badcamp.net/logistics/ride-share Might be a better way of finding someone to split with. Cheers!
