Drupal invasion of Portland Startup Weekend?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Startup Weekend Portland is a month away, 4/1-4/3. People announce an idea, form teams, and build a startup in one weekend. Drupal is the perfect tool for rapid prototyping and we're always completely outnumbered by Ruby. Can we get a critical mass of Drupal folks to launch one or two new sites and maybe businesses?

My idea: I just got back from the Sustainable Meetings Conference at the Doubletree/Lloyd Center, where they did some conference-transforming work adding a team-based game to the conference. People loved it, I expect other conferences will be adopting it, and it was very, very beta. We could build a better system with Drupal in one weekend. Also, despite this being a green conference, the game skipped all the obvious points-for-greening (you got points for visiting exhibitors, not for recycling.) If anyone likes this idea, let me know, we'll core a team and go -- it could be a really fun startup, involving coding mixed with going to conferences and running the games. Also open to joining someone else's Drupal startup...

Breathe & Create,
Stephen
