Maintainable Image Gallery

The art lab website is not working. I was able to find the video here:
http://www.truveo.com/show/The%20Art%20Lab%20-%20HOWTO

I'm new to Drupal, and I started with Drupal 6, and this seems to be using Drupal 5.

I'm currently looking to implement a maintainable image gallery, using the Image, Lightbox2, and CCK, and taxonomy modules.

Using only Image and Lightbox I was happy to be able to create galleries, and upload multiple images to a gallery. The need for CCK came when I found out I could not edit the Authoring Info of each image to reflect the date in which the photos were taken, rather than the date they were published in the site, I also need to modify this field in multiple images at once.

I am thinking of creating a new content type, photograph, and then create the desired field. I have not done this yet but, I think I can specify that this field can be modified "multiply" (ugh). Or I can just add this field to the Image content type.

Can anyone tell me if I'm in the right direction?

well... back to work.
