User group meeting
hey guys, we had a great meetup last month, and I am ready to start this year out strong with another great meetup. It will be Wed. Jan 19th, at 6:00 Here in Stamford, at 700 Canal St. I am open to any topics you would like to discuss. I will put together a tentative list in a day or two, but feel free to shout out some suggestions. Would love to see some new faces if anybody didn't come to the last one.

Hi,
I would be interested in people sharing basic code recipes (code snippets) that they use over and over again for theming or other purposes. Even if I don't completely understand at first, it could be a great reference source.

Happy to share my experiences with the NYC group.
Lot of irritants that i am still figuring out..
Silly warning messages, inconsistencies, upgrade issues etc etc.
Maybe we can bring to the table such things that we have on our live sites, discuss, and troubleshoot them?
Data importing and great UI
I'm about to import a bunch of data and I'd love anyone's experiences with existing modules for this and/or custom code you've written. I'd also like a show & tell of what other people think is great UI. I'd like to be exposed to more functional & beautiful sites.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend tonight's meeting. Any chance of video skyping for those of us who can't physically be there?

are we meeting at the italian restaurant that is at this address? (700 Canal Street) and is there a number that I can call once i reach so that i know which group is the Drupal group (This is for in case not many turn up, cos then it becomes difficult to identify the meetup members)

Yes, its actually the next door, but in the same building, on the first floor, if you go past the restaurant about 200 feet you will see a single door that says visual | efx / Elements. We are right in that door, I will keep a look out.
So far I think we have some good topics. I think with the small group we can probably hit all the topics. If not, we can get a list started for next month's meetup.
