Drupal7 release party in the air

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Drupal7 final release is just around the corner. I believe most of you guys are aware. So, with the aim of continuing the culture, various communities around the world are organizing release parties.

Check out:

* http://www.drupal7releaseparty.org/
* http://groups.drupal.org/node/113244

Any suggestions as to where we can have this? Can we do this at any of the eatries? Just gist about D7 updates actually - I haven't dig in myself.

Just to let us all know that, this is a very unofficial meetup. No projectors, no teachings. Just D7 talks.

Your suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks

I don't know if anyone is enthusiastic about this. Common, you guys use Drupal to build your beautiful websites. Wouldn't it be great to discuss about what's new!

Release Party

No comments yet? This is real interesting? 10 Days to go. It does not have to be a big party... It could even be a house party or bring your own... No Interests???

I'm considering sponsoring on the 7th of January. If you're interested, please rsvp, so i can consolidate arrangements.

Just do it

Posted by jpoesen on December 27, 2010 at 3:57pm

Hi pyel

in my experience you should just organize it yourself and see who shows up instead of putting feelers out there.
People are often just waiting for other people to kick something into gear.

I suggest you just find a venue (higher ed classroom, a bar, a restaurant, at home?) and just announce it. Other people will pick up the announcement and people will start registering.

Don't be held back, just do it!

Good luck.
J.

PS: Why don't you and drecute collaborate on this?

Interested!

7th of January works for me. For Lagos residents, we have guys living in Ikorodu, we have guys living in Ajah. A central location such as Surulere or Yaba could be ideal. Let's all make this rock!

Okay! Thanks guys. Pyel,

Okay! Thanks guys. Pyel, where do you think we can do this? Somebody from our facebook group page (http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=28453822539) is suggesting we do this on the Island. Yaba is cool too as suggested by chillpill. But what location in Yaba.

Chams city at Maryland seems a cool option as well.

Please I need your feedback on this so we can plan early.

Kindly message me via my contact page (http://drupal.org/user/491274)

There's a breakaway section in Sweet Sensations Opebi. Seems like that would be a good option, it should take about 10-20 people. Will find out costs etal tomorrow. Yele - pyel

Sweet! Surely we got this.

Sweet! Surely we got this. Opebi is central enough. If anyone has an alternate option, we all ears, else, we are rolling with this.

Reaching out to non-g.d.o Drupalists

Posted by aniediudo on December 28, 2010 at 8:56am

Hi guys, can we spread this beyond g.d.o so that the info can get to as many Drupal ninjas, newbies, enthusiasts & evangelists? Word of mouth, Email, Twitter, Facebook, IM, Nairaland etx. The more the merrier...

Chill Pill

Yep. Go ahead chillpill.
