Please tell me how can I enable or allow all or any kind of characters for user name creation because characters like !@#$%^&*()_+|}{":?>< are not allowed and considered as illegal characters.
Please advise ... Please know that I did searched for such a thing in the main forum and posted asking for a solution, but no reply and I did not found any module can does this job.
Thanks

Not sure why...

I am not sure why you posted this under the phpBB group? This is a Drupal issue isn't it?

I assume those characters are illegal because they can be used to execute malicious code. I don't believe you are going to find a way to enable them. I could be wrong, there is probably someone else that wanted to do it.. but I haven't seen a reason why or how myself.

Sorry.

Thanks for replying mate,

Thanks for replying mate, coz the main forum did not replied at all so far. Actually I am moving my forum from mybb to phpbb3 and members need to do a register and they are using such characters.
I hope if some one can help with this issue, but if it is really not secured at all, then it is ok, drop it
So please advise and help.
THanks and best regards.

You'd have to rewrite

You'd have to rewrite portions of both Drupal (including modules) and phpBB 3.x to allow this.

You're probably better off sending an email to all the relevant users and ask them to change their usernames, and automatically convert those that do not do it.
