Is it safe to delete users?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I thought I remember hearing a while back that it's not safe to delete users when using this module. Is this true, or am I just not remembering correctly. It was awhile ago anyway and the module has progressed a lot since. I'd really like to be able to delete users, as I've found a lot of spam registrations lately.

It's safe, but the user will

It's safe, but the user will only be disabled in the other application. Because the module can't trigger any delete-actions for third party extensions / mods that you may have installed. So by just disabling the user, it ensures that those get triggered when you delete a user the "normal way".

So I would have to deactive

So I would have to deactive the account in both Drupal and phpbb, and then delete the accounts separately?

No, just delete in one, then

No, just delete in one, then the account is deactivated in the other, and then you go and delete in the other at your leisure.
