Page as Block OR inline embedding of a Page

Posted by shiks on December 14, 2023 at 12:31pm

I would like to propose an idea of having some Drupal module which can let some page to be exposed as a block.

Example : Let's say, we have a address-book page exposed through Drupal Commerce Profiles. And now, I want to functionality of that page to be available as a embedded block on some other custom page created for My account.

If I had some module that can let me expose any of route as a block then I might have simply considered using that.

The workshop covers:
- Impostor syndrome
- Finding a topic
- Better speaker tips
- Writing a great pitch
- Creating an outline
- Creating great slides

Should we move the Drupal community from IRC to Slack?

Should we move the community from IRC to Slack?

I used to be active on IRC, but noticed questions were getting less and less responses. After a while I figured out a lot of the community has moved to Slack instead.
Questions seem te be getting a lot more attention on Slack now.

Should we make an attempt to move the community from IRC to Slack?
A lot of pages on Drupal.org could use an update regarding this as well.

I also noticed that there is no Drupal.org webmasters group on Slack, maybe we should add that?

Is Drupal the right tool for drupal.org and the project itself?

Posted by develcuy on October 3, 2016 at 2:13am

Just started a discussion about it here:

The promise of Drupal vs. the reality

The first thing you read when looking for 'drupal' in google is:

"Drupal is an open source platform for building amazing digital experiences. It's made by a dedicated community"

Are we making Drupal.org an amazing digital experience? You tell me...

Where should Drupal.org feature requests be submitted? (and a feature request)

Posted by JonFreed on January 30, 2016 at 3:21pm

Where should feature requests for Drupal.org be submitted?

I want to suggest that the project module list has another filter that allows people to filter out project modules that are merely in a development or alpha or beta stage for a particular release, e.g. version 8. There are currently 1,312 modules for 8.x, but a lot of them are only dev or alpha or beta, so that number is really misleading. For my 8.x site, I just want to know what modules have at least a release candidate or production release. Thanks to the version naming conventions, the filter shouldn't be too hard to implement, right? :)

I looked for a place to submit this idea but I could not find one.

D8 User Manual proposal

Posted by jhodgdon on June 2, 2015 at 2:19pm

There's a new proposal to create a coherent, internationalized Drupal 8 User Manual, which Joe Shindelar (eojthebrave) discussed at DrupalCon Los Angeles recently. Because we want comments on the proposal, it's posted in the Documentation group (the Core group doesn't allow comments):
https://groups.drupal.org/node/470648

I thought some other groups might be interested, so I'm posting this quick note to let you know. Follow the link for all the details and discussions.

Plan for upcoming D8 Accelerate sprint on DrupalCI (Modernizing Testbot Initiative)

Posted by webchick on March 25, 2015 at 9:54pm

Next week, an international conglomeration of awesome folks will convene in Portland, Oregon for a D8 Accelerate-funded sprint on DrupalCI: Modernizing Testbot Initiative.

The main aim of DrupalCI is to rebuild Drupal's current testbot infrastructure (which is currently powered by an aging Drupal 6 site) to industry-standard components such as Jenkins, Docker, and so on, architected to be generally useful outside of Drupal.org. See Nick Schuch's Architecting DrupalCI at DrupalCon Amsterdam blog post for more details.

The goal is to end the sprint with an "MVP" product on production hardware, with integration to Drupal.org, which can be used to demonstrate a full end-to-end D8 core ‘simpletest’ test run request from Drupal.org through to results appearing on the results server.

You can read and subscribe to the sprint hit-list issue to get an idea of who's going to be working on what, and the places where you too can jump in (see the much longer version for more details).

This is a particularly important initiative to help with, since it not only unblocks Drupal 8 from shipping, it also makes available awesome new testing tools for all Drupal.org projects!

Go Team! :)
