Doug,
Would love to go, depends on if I can get away from the kids for a weekend! Are you here @ Ohio Linux Fest this weekend?

No Dougvann at OLF

Posted by dougvann on September 10, 2010 at 9:44pm

Nope,
I leave for Dallas tomorrow for 6daze. But Sharon Palmer did make sure that we had plenty of DrupalCampIndy fliers at OLF.
I hope to see you in Indy!

Indianapolis is currently on

Posted by mradcliffe on September 14, 2010 at 3:11pm

Indianapolis is currently on Eastern Daylight Time, and will be on the 23rd, right?

I chose America/Indianapolis in iCal, but I'm not sure how intelligent that is. ;-)

Correct, EST and on Oct 23rd.

CODUG SAD BoF

Posted by mradcliffe on September 16, 2010 at 4:58pm

I'm thinking about holding my Saturday Afternoon of Drupal meetup at IndyCamp for October. I mentioned it to Brian S. at our Central Ohio meetup last night, and he was enthused about it.

Basically, here in Columbus, I've been doing meetups where we bring our laptops, munch on food, and ask each other's advice as we work on Drupal. I guess it's almost like a mix between a BoF and a Coder's Lounge, but anything goes - site building, theme/module development, chatting, etc... I'd be willing to spend most of the afternoon in a room organizing/overseeing this.

It would be awesome to tie this to giving everyone their own Drupal slice on some local server where they could take the code/db home with them at the end of the day. But I lack the resources to do that myself.

WebEnabled?

Posted by narcissus921 on September 16, 2010 at 5:11pm

Get everyone to sign up for WebEnabled? It's free to start, and I use it to collaborate with my clients. At the end of the day, you can create a backup and download the entire package - code and db. You get 2 development areas as a trial user, and it takes just a few minutes to set up. Take your code home, edit the settings.php file, and import the db.

www.webenabled.com if you're interested.

Right you are, Tyler.

Indeed. I didn't understand what Webenabled really was the 1st time I saw it. To help people out I have created a number of videos on the service. Check out my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/d0ugvann?feature=mhum

Disclaimer: Since discovering WebEnabled I have partnered with the Denver based company that created it. I am not involved in the development or operations of WebEnabled. I am working with them on a variety of other projects ranging from Drupal development to Drupal training.

I haven't seen any

Posted by mradcliffe on September 29, 2010 at 6:41pm

I haven't seen any information regarding BoF meeting locations to hold my meetup or just be available. Do I submit this as a "session"? It doesn't really seem like a session.

Also, there's no contact form on the web site so I don't know who to contact to ask such a question.

I can't commit to this without knowing any details and it's less than a month away from the actual event time.

Edit: oh wait /contact is enabled but not linked in any menu.

How do I register. Attend?

Posted by Dan_8o on September 30, 2010 at 12:14am

I registered on the website but when I go to my profile page it says: "Attending: I am not Attending" With no place to change this to attending?

When I go to the "Attendees" page there is a link that says register. When I click this I get: "Access denied. You are not authorized to access this page." =^(

I would like to go, but if I can't register ... then ... sniff

Thanks,

  • Daniel

How do I register. Attend?

Posted by gnferranti on September 30, 2010 at 12:28am

I encountered the same issue when registering.
I went to the "profile" page and was able to hit an "edit" link that allowed me to change from "I am not Attending" to "I am Attending"

Thanks - Found it

Posted by Dan_8o on September 30, 2010 at 12:58am

I am now attending. YEAH!

Answers!

Posted by indytechcook on September 30, 2010 at 12:50am

Hey folks!

@mradcliffe, go ahead and enter the BoF as a session. Just add a note in the description about the format of the discussion.

We have 4 rooms. 2 are large can hold up to 40 each. The other 2 are smaller, board rooms that can hold around 10. The sessions will be placed in rooms based upon interest and voting. Just because a session is in a large room, doesn't mean it has to be a formal presentation.

@Dan_8o, sorry about that. We know the site isn't perfect :)

I'm proud to announce that our opensource-loving friends at Microsoft are buying us lunch!
Our local Tijuana Flats (from 96th and I-69) will be showing up to set up a fiesta spread fit for a nerd!

Some of you may not know that MicroSoft has been an active participant in the Drupal project for around 2 years. You can even download Acquia Drupal from their website at http://www.microsoft.com/web/gallery/Categories.aspx?sorting=alphabetical

Come to the camp and let Microsoft buy your lunch!
