Meeting Notes - February 5, 2014

Posted by deetergp on February 6, 2014 at 4:08pm

Our normally-scheduled January meet-up landed squarely on New Years Day, so we cancelled it back in December—but February's meet-up was hopping! Eighteen Drupalers attended. After some pizza and chit-chat we got to talking about upcoming events in the local community, particularly the Charlotte Drupal Drive-In and DrupalCamp Florida. We managed to secure a Drupal Association Community Cultivation Grant for the Drive-In, thanks to Shrop's legwork. The funds from the grant will go toward lunch for the event.

Drupal Module Roundup

Or "50 (-ish) Ways to Use Some Modules"

November's meetup found us making good on an idea that came up when several charDUGgers got together on a Friday in order to make some music. The idea was to get some Drupal developers talking about the modules they use on a pretty regular basis. Pretty much everybody that came found out about at least one module they had never heard of before that did something they found interesting.

November charDUG Meetup

Posted by deetergp on November 17, 2013 at 10:37pm

This month's meetup was a good one, Dave Ingram led a such a good discussion on the Drupal Commerce module that I had a difficult time remembering to take notes. Unfortunately, what follows is just the highlight reel:

Introductions

Mark Shropshire

  • Changes to LunchCamp
    • Once a month format seems to be working out
    • Everyone seems to like the new location
  • Changes to RoundTable
    • Keeping presentations at about an hour in length
    • Time for Q&A afterward
    • Post-meetup beers are a success
  • Changes to Tech Co-Working

charDUG Meetup

Posted by deetergp on October 7, 2013 at 8:47pm

We had another successful meetup this month, with thirteen members on-site and two more via Google Hangout. The meeting kicked off with two MASSIVE pizzas and some good conversation, before Shrop took the dais. At the September meetup, Shrop outlined some changes that were in the pipe for a few of our meetings, and at this month's, he covered how well those changes fared. Changing the LunchCamp to a once-a-month schedule and relocating it to The Saloon at the NC Music Factory showed some real promise. We are hoping for some better attendance at the next one!
