Vulos

Your own server. Your own everything.

A sovereign, web-native personal operating system — a real desktop, your files, your apps, and your own private AI, reachable from any browser and running on hardware you own. Open source, self-hostable, and yours to walk away with.

vulos.org · Projects · Docs · Downloads

MIT / Apache-2.0 · self-hosted, your own box · no lock-in

We build an entire suite of software you run on hardware you control — an OS and the apps on top of it — instead of renting it from someone else's cloud. Your identity is a keypair you hold; your data lives on your box; every line is open. There is no central Vulos service to depend on and nothing to unsubscribe from.

▸ Start here

vulos
The web-native personal OS — desktop, windows, files, terminal, app store, and your private AI. Self-hostable, runs in any browser and on bare metal.

▸ Productivity

diwan — Real-time collaborative office: documents, spreadsheets, slides & whiteboards, on your own storage.
lilmail — Mail, calendar & contacts in a single Go binary. Bring your own Gmail / Outlook / IMAP.
slipscan — Self-hosted, decentralized personal finance — you are the server. (Rust + Tauri)

▸ Developer tools

wede — A self-hosted collaborative web IDE in one Go binary — real-time multiplayer editing you own.
gitstate — Local-first desktop app that derives true project state, effort & contribution from your git.

▸ Business & operations

soko — Commerce without a marketplace — your catalogue is a signed feed you publish.
beepbite — A self-hostable restaurant point-of-sale you own — till, kitchen display, floor plan, delivery.
cackle — Events & ticketing in one Go binary — Ed25519-signed tickets verifiable offline.
pango — Self-hostable building maintenance & inspections — jobs costed per unit.
kilio — Sealed, anonymous-first intake for sensitive claims — the host can't read submissions.

▸ Design & engineering

kerf — Free, open-source CAD with a distributed parts workshop — modeling, drawings, FEM, CAM, electronics.
sirboard — Open hardware: 107 KiCad PCB designs — breakouts, dev boards, and a JST-SH sensor line.
zana — Open hardware for the physical world — robot mowers, bots, sensor nodes and cameras you build.
aql — An open command center for the physical world — cameras, lights, mowers, IoT, energy, security.

▸ Knowledge & search

vuna — Reap the open web: a decentralized crawl → extract → index engine. Your index, not someone else's.
molao — A free, decentralized commons of case law — corpus, citation graph & citator.

▸ Games & media

magnetite — A decentralized, self-hostable game platform — bring any server, own your identity & items.
wibbly — A camera-gesture game — your camera is the controller, frames never leave the device.
evermesh — Decentralized, self-owned media that outlives its platforms. (Experimental)

▸ Services & engines

Headless services you self-host and point your own apps and sites at — not desktop apps.

llmux — The sovereign OpenAI-compatible AI gateway — routing, fallbacks, budgets, inference on your box.
openrate — Open, ZAR-anchored exchange-rate engine — an auditable currency graph.
patala — Sovereign, centerless payment-rail substrate — one honest interface over fiat & crypto rails.
athar — Self-hosted web analytics with heatmaps — cookieless, no PII, data never leaves your server.

▸ Databases

basin — Multi-tenant, Postgres-compatible database on object storage — cheaper disk, native branching.

▸ Protocol & substrate

KOTVA — the narrow-waist protocol family the whole suite rides on — with its reference broker and mail node.

kotva — The sovereign substrate — identity, signed objects, transport & delivery. The whole suite is built on it.
pier — The KOTVA broker reference implementation — swappable, self-hostable, content-blind relays.
envoir — The sovereign node reference implementation of KOTVA-Mail — mail from the keypair up.

Run it now. Leave whenever. · Open source, MIT / Apache-2.0 · your keys, your data, no central cloud.
