This would help workflows relying on search_path tremendously. Is there anything to do to get this merged soon? Happy to help if so.

Like #3668 but with environment variable support.
No idea if this is the best place to put this env-to-config code, and it's also not great that it's writing into config.SQL[*], but I consider this a first step.
