Some engineers wait for a ticket. I wait for the itch.
The moment an idea clicks usually at 2 AM, sometimes mid-meeting, never at a convenient time I open my editor and start cutting. I don’t plan a roadmap. I follow the thread. I write until the architecture finally makes sense, breaks, and then makes sense again. Half my projects start with zero expectations and end with something I actually use, or something that taught me a lesson I didn’t know I needed.
I don’t build because it’s my job. I have a job. I go to work, I ship code there too. But the real stuff the things that keep me awake happen off the clock, when no one asked me to build anything. That’s the purest form of engineering I know: building because the problem won’t leave your head, and the only way to silence it is to solve it.
I’ve been through the 4 AM debugging sessions where the bug makes no sense. I’ve been through the rage of a race condition that only shows up under load. I’ve been through the moment where deleting the whole repo feels like the only option. But I stayed. I fixed it. And then I shipped it. That cycle break, understand, fix, ship is the only cycle I trust. It’s what won us the Smart India Hackathon. Not the idea, not the slide deck. The fact that when our system crashed at hour 47, we didn’t blink. We rebuilt, redeployed, and walked out with the win.
I don’t call myself a backend engineer or a frontend engineer. I call myself someone who finishes what they start. Clean boundaries, fast responses, systems that don’t flinch under pressure that’s the standard. Whatever tool gets me there, I’ll use it. If it doesn’t survive the night, it doesn’t ship.
I’m not looking for a "safe role." I’m looking for a place where the build matters more than the title, where 2 AM clarity is respected, and where people care less about how many lines you wrote and more about whether the system holds.
If you need someone who treats your backend like a heartbeat and your frontend like a nervous system someone already awake, already building, already obsessed then I’m your engineer.
