┌──(deborah@cyberlab)-[~] └─$ cat about.txt I don't want to be just another face in the crowd. I'm building practical cybersecurity skills through hands-on labs, real projects, experimentation, troubleshooting, and documentation. My interests: Security Operations • Threat Detection • Incident Response Network Security • Penetration Testing • Security Automation My approach: Learn → Build → Break → Understand → Defend
I learn best by getting my hands dirty; whether that's attacking a vulnerable machine, investigating network traffic, configuring a SIEM, troubleshooting a broken lab, or writing Python to solve a security problem.

🎯 First Cybersecurity Opportunity
Currently focusing on:
Security Operations • Threat Detection • Incident Response Threat Hunting • Network Security • Penetration Testing • Python
Hands-on penetration testing lab covering:
Recon → Enumeration → Vulnerability Identification → Exploitation → Documentation
Tools: Nmap • Metasploit • Linux • Networking
Building a personal SOC environment using:
Wazuh • Suricata • Zeek • Ubuntu • Kali • Docker
Focused on log analysis, network monitoring, threat detection, and incident investigation.
Using Python to turn cybersecurity concepts into practical tools.
Areas include:
OSINT • Reconnaissance • Automation • Forensics • Malware Analysis • Network Analysis
| Lab / Project | Focus | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Kioptrix Level 1 | Penetration Testing | ✅ Complete |
| Metasploitable | Vulnerability Assessment | ✅ Complete |
| DVWA | Web Security | ✅ Complete |
| OWASP Juice Shop | Web Security | ✅ Complete |
| Nmap Labs | Network Recon | ✅ Complete |
| Home SOC | SIEM & Detection | 🔄 Building |
| Wireshark Labs | Network Analysis | 🔄 Learning |
| Python Security Toolkit | Automation | 🔄 Building |
┌──(deborah@cyberlab)-[~/lessons] └─$ cat troubleshooting.log "The exploit is broken." → It was the network. "The tool isn't working." → Configuration issue. "Why isn't my session connecting?" → Check the interface. → Check the IP. → Check the route. → Check the listener. "This should be easy." → It wasn't. LESSON: Don't blame the tool before checking the setup.
I'm learning not to immediately assume that the tool, exploit, or script is broken; sometimes I'm the vulnerability😭

Building skills. One lab at a time.
Still learning.
Still building.
Still breaking things.
Still getting better.
