✨ What is cliide?

cliide (CLI IDE) is a terminal-based AI-first development environment that runs entirely in your terminal. Unlike traditional IDEs with AI bolted on, cliide is built from the ground up with AI agents at its core.

📦 Quick Start

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+
  • A local LLM server (VLLM, Ollama, or OpenAI-compatible)

Install

pip install cliide

Run

# Open current directory
cliide
# Open a specific project
cliide ~/projects/my-app

Connect to Your LLM

# Using Ollama (easiest)
ollama serve
ollama run deepseek-coder:33b
# Using VLLM
python -m vllm.entrypoints.openai.api_server \
 --model deepseek-ai/deepseek-coder-33b-instruct

Configure in ~/.config/cliide/config.toml:

[vllm]
base_url = "http://localhost:11434/v1" # Ollama
# base_url = "http://localhost:8000/v1" # VLLM
model = "deepseek-coder:33b"
