My name is Shelly and I am currently a NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biology with the University of Michigan (Dr. Stephen A. Smith). I finished my Ph.D. in the Soltis Lab at the University of Florida in August 2024. I study whole-genome duplication in angiosperms. See my research site for more about me.

I was an iDigBio Research Assistant. You can find a round-up of my biodiversity informatics work here.

Some of my recent projects:

Coming Soon:

  • mgaynor1/nQuackAI: The next version of nQuack.
  • mgaynor1/MCPop: A collection of functions used to analyze mixed-cytotype data.
