A big Stargate mod for Better than Adventure!
A Stargate is a sophisticated ancient device that enables instant travel between distant locations across the universe, originating from the science fiction franchise: Stargate.
In this mod, you will be able to find and build such devices to travel nearly instantly to other gates and explore new dimensions
A Stargate functions like a sophisticated phone system: each gate has a unique address, and you can dial other gates using a special keypad to establish a connection.
There are 3 different gates in this mod:
- Milky Way: The classic orange gate.
- Pegasus: The more refined blue gate.
- Universe: The rusty old black gate.

Universe Stargate - Inactive Universe Stargate - Active
Every gate has a unique address composed of 9 symbols arranged in a specific pattern:
- Positions 1-6: Represent the Stargate's region on the XZ plane (spatial coordinates)
- Position 7: Indicates the dimension where the gate is located and allows contact with gates of different types
- Position 8: Provides a more refined location within the Stargate region. This is useful when multiple gates exist in the same region, allowing you to choose which specific gate to contact
- Position 9: The point of origin symbol. This indicates that you have finished entering an address. Every gate address ends with this same symbol
Tip: You can dial with fewer than 9 symbols!
If you want to contact a gate in the same dimension and of the same type as yours, you can enter just the first 6 symbols, then press the point of origin symbol as position 7 to complete the dial.
To discover a gate's address, right-click on it with a piece of paper. This will create an address card showing all possible addresses for that gate.

Each of the 3 gate types has its own unique symbol set. When dialing, you must use the symbols corresponding to your source gate type.
To enter addresses and dial gates, you will use a Dialing Home Device (DHD). Currently, two variants of DHDs exist, and both are compatible with all gate types.
Left: Milky Way DHD | Right: Pegasus DHD
Future Update: Gates will spawn naturally and rarely in the Overworld.
To craft a gate, you will first need to find a rare resource called Naquadah.
Naquadah is a rare, super-heavy, and extremely dense chemical element used in most technology in this mod. It can also be used as a powerful fuel for furnaces and blast furnaces.
Future Update: Naquadah will be a resource that only spawns in another dimension. For now, it's available through a special crafting recipe.
Step 1: Crush the naquadah in a trommel
Note: Due to Naquadah's extreme density as a heavy chemical element, the trommel has a 20% chance of yielding nothing.

Step 2: Mix the powder with crude steel
Step 3: Smelt the crude alloy in a blast furnace

With naquadah alloy, you can now craft the building components of the gate.

With all the materials ready, you need to assemble them in a 7x7 ring structure.
Note: Stargates can be built vertically or horizontally on the floor.
