Summary

Persona-based information architecture review identified that the Workflow/Automation Builder persona cannot easily find the beginner entry point in the Flows section. This PR fixes the highest-priority finding.

Personas reviewed

  1. AI Agent Developer — Connects AI agents to external tools via UCL/MCP
  2. Workflow/Automation Builder — Creates flows to automate business processes
  3. SaaS Platform Builder — Embeds Fastn's integration hub into their product

Top 3 findings

Rank Priority Persona Issue Proposed fix
1 High Workflow/Automation Builder Quick Start Guide buried below 30+ reference pages in Flows sidebar — new users hit dense reference material before the beginner entry point Move Quick Start to top of Flows nav
2 High AI Agent Developer No SDK/developer-focused onboarding path — entire UCL section is UI-walkthrough focused with no code-first quick start Create a developer quick start for UCL with SDK installation and first API call
3 Medium All personas "Your First Automation" is a thin redirect page with three links instead of a proper onboarding guide Expand into onboarding hub with persona-based paths

What this PR fixes

Finding #1: Quick Start Guide buried in Flows navigation

Previously, the Flows sidebar ordered content as:

  1. Flow Setup Essentials (30+ nested reference pages)
  2. Quick Start Guide
  3. Debugging & Troubleshooting
  4. ...

A workflow builder arriving at the Flows section had to scroll past all reference material to find the 10-minute getting-started tutorial. This violates progressive disclosure — the simplest, most common entry point should appear first.

Change: Moved Quick Start Guide to the first position in the Flows section, before Flow Setup Essentials. No content was modified or deleted — only the navigation order in SUMMARY.md changed.

Remaining items (follow-up work)

How to verify

  1. Open the docs site (or preview the GitBook build)
  2. Navigate to the Flows section in the sidebar
  3. Confirm Quick Start Guide appears as the first item, above Flow Setup Essentials
  4. Verify all other Flows nav items remain unchanged and in correct order

...bility
The Quick Start Guide was buried below 30+ reference pages in the Flows
sidebar. New users arriving at the Flows section hit dense reference
material before finding the beginner entry point. This reorders the
navigation so the Quick Start appears first, following progressive
disclosure principles.
