Hi, Alessandro here.
I currently work as a data science leader at GSK, based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Before that, I worked at Red Door Analytics.
I'm also a co-chair of the openstatsware working group and an associate editor for the journal Biostatistics.
My interests include statistical simulation, survival analysis, multilevel modelling, joint shared random-effects modelling (e.g. longitudinal-survival), computational statistics, and statistical natural history models for breast cancer growth and spread. Lately, I have also been doing more prediction modelling and causal inference.
I'm predominantly an R user, but I also use a good amount of Stata. I also enjoy working in C++, Python, SQL, and LaTeX, and I can write a fair amount of HTML and CSS.
I developed and maintain the following R packages on CRAN:
You will also find a variety of experimental packages and code (with wildly variable maturity levels) here.
If you want to know more, feel free to check out my website at ellessenne.xyz, where I sometimes (well, not so often these days) write about statistics, R programming, and other random stuff (tiny computers anyone?). You will find contact details there as well.
