Hi, I'm Kyl Justin Perez β firmware engineer turned Platform Engineer, and full-time noise-to-
/dev/nullredirector. π
My handle is the Unix incantation for "pipe it into the void." Fitting, because half of platform engineering is knowing exactly what noise to send to /dev/null so the signal survives β and automating whatever's left.
I started on bare metal as a licensed Electronics Engineer (ECE) β writing firmware, building integration/unit test rigs, and wiring up DevOps automation for embedded devices you can actually hold in your hand. It's where I learned that a NULL pointer is not a joke and that reliability is a discipline, not an afterthought.
Today I'm a Platform Engineer: CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, cloud-native systems, and the internal tooling that makes other developers' lives easier. I build the paved roads teams ship on.
I also work at the seam where platform meets ML β MLOps, AI tooling inside pipelines, agents and MCP servers, and AI-assisted developer experience. Same instinct as always: automate the repetitive, keep the interesting.
