Read ⭐ 2. Start the daemon page.
Show a prompt text next to or above the search bar.
Example:
smilemenu -p Apps # Or "My Apps"🧩 --pp, --prompt-position {top,entry,hidden}
Positions the prompt text. Entry by default.
Examples:
smilemenu -p "My Apps" --prompt-position top smilemenu -p "My Apps" --prompt-position entry smilemenu -p "My Apps" --prompt-position hidden
Overrides the default placeholder text of the search bar.
Example:
smilemenu --placeholder "Search Apps..."Overrides the window width.
Example:
smilemenu --width 700
Disables the search bar.
Set custom max visible items (list height).
Example:
smilemenu --max-items 10
Generates default config file (~/.config/smilemenu/config.json).
Generates default theme file (~/.config/smilemenu/theme/Main.qml).
Overrides config file. Can be also used for generating config files with custom name and path.
Examples:
# Use a different config smilemenu --config ~/.config/smilemenu/new-config.json # Generate a config with custom name and path smilemenu --gen-config --config ~/Documents/another-config.json
Overrides theme file. Can be also used for generating theme files with custom name and path.
Examples:
# Use a different theme smilemenu --theme ~/.config/smilemenu/theme/new-theme.qml # Generate a config with custom name and path smilemenu --gen-theme --theme ~/Documents/another-theme.qml
Delete cache; either for desktop shortcuts' cache or all cache.
Examples:
# Deletes just the desktop shortcuts' cache (~/.cache/smilemenu/apps_cache.json) smilemenu --dcache app # Deletes the entire cache directory (~/.cache/smilemenu/) smilemenu --dcache all
