Rich Fesler

Chief Architect

I build and harden systems end-to-end: hardware → software → networks → security → operations ....for many years, and counting.

Credibility

  • Built my first computer in the 1970s around an Intel 8008. Keyboard? LOL: an 8-bit switch array (toggle-in / lights-out)
  • California Mathlete Finalist (1980s). Survival Research Laboratories (SF) • built/exhibited robots, incl. World’s Fair (1986)
  • Silicon Valley executive leadership in enterprise technology delivery and technical teams (1985-2005)
  • Law-Enforcement Command Staff: DOJ/CJIS-aligned security, surveillance, digital forensics, 911/radios/comms, physical + virtual security (2010)
  • IEEE member • FCC Amateur Radio (expired) • Tower Climbing certified

Focus today

Edge-first operational systems: Raspberry Pi fleets + Node-RED control planes + MQTT event plumbing, with offline voice/audio, situational-awareness alerts, and observability-heavy reliability (health/heartbeat, watchdogs, fast diagnostics). And, ofcourse, AI like the rest of us.
