KevCaz /README.md

πŸ‘‹ Hi, I'm Kevin (KevCaz)

I'm a data scientist and quantitative ecologist passionate about building tools that help us understand and manage complex ecological systems.
I co-founded inSileco, where we combine data science, reproducible research, and automation to tackle environmental challenges. I’m also adjunct professor at the University of Guelph affiliated with the Centre for Ecosystem Management.

πŸ”¬ What I Do

  • Develop and maintain R packages for ecological modeling and data analysis
  • Build reproducible pipelines that make environmental research scalable and transparent
  • Apply quantitative ecology to real-world problems like biodiversity monitoring and conservation
  • Share knowledge through teaching, mentoring, and open-source contributions
  • See my CV for more details

🌱 Current Interests

  • Automating environmental assessments (carbon, biodiversity, risk)
  • Scalable data acquisition and integration for large-scale ecological studies
  • Bridging the gap between scientific research and decision-making
  • Exploring new technologies to support ecological intelligence
  • Occasionally I blog about this: see inSilecoBlog, as well as my personal EcoNotes (ecology & research) and SilicoNotes.

πŸ› οΈ Tech Stack

  • Languages: R, Julia, Python, C, C++, R, SQL, Bash, ...
