This repository is a port of the original version to Gleam and the lustre framework, inspired in various capacities by Keith and Nick. It was developed in pursuit of a "SwiftUI for the web" and a way of building web apps in-line with Benji's Rule of Frameworks—and, with some nuance that I will elucidate in my talk at Recurse on August 15th (which will hopefully make it to the web eventually), this was broadly successful.
It also swaps Shopify for Stripe which I anticipate should save me ~500ドル a year.

This idea was hammered in to my head, first by a display case at Barnes and Noble and then ultimately by a table at Telescope Coffee. This time my excuse to make it is a combination of winter break and public commitment.

I was deeply confused by the lack of digital equivalent to the physical book stands, which I thought had a sweet charm to them. Surely ordering books is a solved digital problem—I mean, that's what Amazon was founded on—and a custom frontend that just displays things differently is a trifling project.
The hyperscaling version of this project would look something like this:
- Scrape books from some list
- Have a generative model write summaries based on a set of examples
- Display on sexy website
- Have Amazon deliver book to user's house
Turns out, shockingly, it's hard to buy things with code. So we're making it personal:
- A list of books chosen by myself, my family, and my best friends.
- Descriptions we wrote.
- The website is still sexy.
- It sends you to
