Current limitations, known issues, and workarounds for the Accessibility Widget.

Issue: Firefox has limited TTS support compared to Chrome/Safari.

Impact:

• Limited voice selection
• Some TTS parameters may not work as expected
• Word highlighting may be less accurate

Workaround:

• TTS still works for basic text reading
• Use Chrome, Edge, or Safari for full TTS features
• Basic functionality is still available in Firefox

Status: Browser limitation, not a plugin bug

Issue: Color blindness filters may slow down pages with many images.

Impact:

• Slight performance impact on pages with 50+ images
• May cause minor lag on very large pages

Workaround:

• Optimize images on your website
• Consider disabling filters on pages with many images
• Use filters only when needed

Status: Known limitation, optimization in progress

Issue: Widget may disappear when color blindness filters are applied (fixed in recent versions).

Impact:

• Widget not visible with filters active

Workaround:

• Update to latest version
• Widget should remain visible with proper CSS isolation

Status: Fixed in version 1.0.0+

Issue: Settings may not persist in some browsers' private/incognito modes.

Impact:

• Settings reset when private session ends
• Settings may not save in private mode

Workaround:

• Use normal browsing mode for persistent settings
• Settings will work during the session
• This is a browser security feature

Status: Browser behavior, not a bug

Issue: localStorage has size limits (typically 5-10MB).

Impact:

• Very unlikely to be an issue
• Plugin uses minimal storage (< 1KB)

Workaround:

• Not applicable (plugin uses minimal storage)

Status: Not a concern for this plugin

Issue: Internet Explorer is not supported.

Impact:

• Plugin will not work in IE
• IE is deprecated by Microsoft

Workaround:

• Use modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
• IE users should upgrade to Edge

Status: IE is deprecated, not supported

Issue: Browsers older than minimum versions may not work correctly.

Impact:

• Some features may not work
• Widget may not appear
• Errors may occur

Workaround:

• Update browser to latest version
• Use supported browsers

Status: Use modern browsers

There are no known bugs at this time. If you find a bug, please report it on GitHub Issues.

Problem: TTS doesn't work in Firefox.

Workaround:

• Use Chrome, Edge, or Safari for full TTS support
• Basic TTS still works in Firefox

Problem: Settings reset in private/incognito mode.

Workaround:

• Use normal browsing mode
