(30,31) In the current study, there was no significant difference in mean macular thickness between the amblyopic and non-amblyopic eyes in patients with myopia or
hyperopia (Table 1).
Mental Retardation (MR) was seen in 16 (3.8%) in which VI in 7 (43.75%), nystagmus in 2 (12.5%), squint in 3 (18.75%), cataract in 1 (6.25%),
hyperopia in 4 (25%), myopia in 2 (12.5%).
Myopia is that refractive error in which the light is brought to a focus in front of the retina, while in
hyperopia it is brought to a focus behind the retina.
According to the literature,
hyperopia is inversely correlated to age (7-9,11-21) and is more common among White children (1,22-24), whilst its association with gender (6-10,12-16,18-23,25-32), parental education (1,6,9,25,27,33,34) and family income (16,27,28) is inconclusive.
And in cases of high myopia or high
hyperopia there is limited improvement in the acuity with the pinhole.

If guilt appeals work, will environmental
hyperopia enhance or reduce the effects of a guilt appeal that promotes a green policy?
Results revealed the prevalence rate of myopia to the 26.7%,
hyperopia 15.9%, astigmatism 24.5%.
According to Dr Akahoshi, "the new Phaco Prechop cataract surgery can recover patients' vision to what it was like when they were young, treating myopia,
hyperopia, astigmatism as well as
presbyopia".
* Farsightedness, or
hyperopia, is the opposite of nearsightedness.
Since cataracts become more common with age, older men, as well as those with extreme farsightedness (
hyperopia), may want to bypass LASIK and wait until they need cataract surgery.
