You are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. It's currently planned for June 16-July 13, partly due to me having hayfever during that period and not wanting to run it throughout July or August in the hotter summer and will be run then unless multiple editors object. There is currently 3338ドル going into it, with 500ドル the top prize. As 250 countries and entities is too much to patrol, entries will be by user, but there is 500ドル going into prizes for editors covering the most countries. Sign up if interested! ♦ Dr. Blofeld

Hey WikiProject Palestine, the Developing Countries WikiContest is back for a third year, and sign-ups are now open ! The contest will run from 1July to 30September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.

Can someone who is fluent in Arabic add a Bibliography/List of works to the article for Khalil Totah? I am not fluent in Arabic, I don't even know the alphabet and struggle to add Arabic text in the templates for native names, let alone put together a quality bibliography.--CitationAuditor (talk) 18:55, 4 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
Noting here that the article History of Zionism has severe POV issues and appears to have been written as if Palestinians don't exist, in case there are editors who could contribute and help improve the article. إيان (talk) 07:38, 6 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
- I don’t think it’s written as if Palestinian don’t exist – it mentions that 1948 expulsions and the emergence of Palestinian nationalism – but it definitely needed some shift of emphasis. I’ve added some content in the two sections where this was most dramatically missing and I think it’s not so skewed now. BobFromBrockley (talk) 22:08, 6 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
Hello! I'd like to suggest an article about myself — with full transparency: I am the subject, so per WP:COI I am not publishing the article directly myself, and I'm asking independent editors to review or adopt the draft instead.
Majdal Nateel (b. 1987) is a Palestinian visual artist raised in Gaza, twice shortlisted for the A.M. Qattan Foundation Young Artist of the Year Award (2014, 2016), with a 16-month residency at the Zentrum Paul Klee Summer Academy (Bern) and exhibitions in Palestine, Canada, the US and Sweden (2026, with Salman Nawati).
Independent sources: This Week in Palestine (profile, issue 312, April 2024), Discorder Magazine (2022), Middle East Eye, Universes.art (YAYA 2016), Konstguiden (2026).
Draft (submitted to AfC): Draft:Majdal Nateel — Wikidata: d:Q140664165 — Website: https://majdalnateel.com
Thank you! MajdalNateel (talk) 12:07, 22 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
- Dear User:MajdalNateel: I have added an Al Jazeera and an The Independent source to the article. If that is not enough, there is also
- These are all, AFAIK, WP:RS, and should be incorporated into the article, cheers, Huldra (talk) 22:22, 22 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
- Thank you so much Huldra for improving the draft and for these excellent sources! The Art Newspaper piece has now been added, along with Al Jazeera (2015), Middle East Eye (2015) and Göteborgs-Posten (2024), and the draft has been resubmitted. A freely licensed portrait is also now on Commons (File:Majdal Nateel.jpg). Much appreciated! MajdalNateel (talk) 10:02, 23 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
- Update: the draft was declined a second time, a few hours after resubmission, with the generic creative-professionals template and no source-specific feedback — despite the added Al Jazeera (2015, dedicated feature), The Art Newspaper (2024, profile section), Göteborgs-Posten (2024, review with interview), The Independent (2015, dedicated article) and Middle East Eye (2015) coverage. I have politely asked the reviewer which sources they consider insufficient. Huldra, since you know this sourcing well — do you think the draft now meets WP:GNG? If so, I would be very grateful for your advice on next steps (or, if you think it appropriate, a move to mainspace by an experienced editor). As always, full COI disclosure: I am the subject. Thank you! MajdalNateel (talk) 10:38, 23 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
- User:MajdalNateel I have frankly no idea as to why it was refused the second time: I have asked on the talk-page. And I have wiki linked some of those WP:RS that are used in the article. Let's wait a day or two, and see. If it isn't moved to article-space; I will go on one of the notice-boards and ask why. Cheers, Huldra (talk) 22:19, 23 July 2026 (UTC) PS: I would love to see you upload pictures of your work, (I have made a commons cat).Reply
- The article has now been accepted. Thank you so much Huldra for stepping in, improving the sourcing and speaking up — I really appreciate it. ~2026-41375-52 (talk) 09:51, 24 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
- I am pleased if I could be of some help; but not surprised that it was moved to article-space; it was overdue! Huldra (talk) 22:31, 24 July 2026 (UTC) Reply
