Hello! I'm curious, has there been any effort to get some of the guidelines in this essay into the MOS? OrdinaryOtter (talk) 20:33, 18 January 2026 (UTC) Reply

@OrdinaryOtter Not to my knowledge, and it probably wouldn't be worth it. The MOS exists to resolve major and persistent disagreements and I've never seen anyone get into an argument over elegant variation. See WP:MOSBLOAT for more information. Popcornfud (talk) 11:50, 26 May 2026 (UTC) Reply

Indirection

Reading the linked New Yorker article in the indirection section, indirection is defined as "inserting new information without introducing it properly" more broadly, giving a non-elegant variation example and then saying that the two overlap. Also, does Owen's quote about repeated interruptions make sense here when there's only one such interruption/indirection in the Beatles passage? -Brainulator9 (TALK) 03:07, 25 January 2026 (UTC) Reply

@Brainulator9 Thanks for the feedback. I've adjusted the essay a bit with this in mind. Popcornfud (talk) 11:49, 26 May 2026 (UTC) Reply

Both WP:TITULAR and WP:TITLEROLE are listed under the section "Titular, self-titled, eponymous", but only WP:TITULAR redirects to that section, while WP:TITLEROLE takes you to the top of the page. OrdinaryOtter (talk) 07:13, 14 March 2026 (UTC) Reply

Fixed. Thanks. Popcornfud (talk) 07:37, 14 March 2026 (UTC) Reply
