• Beyond unsourced statements, the article relies too much on official sources and news reports without much in the way of academic analysis.
• Balance also seems to be an issue. While it has a long paragraph on "European Parliament Mediator for International Parental Child Abduction" there is nothing to be heard about Euroskepticism,[2] [3] [4] or the many other issues discussed in academic sources[5]

• Updating is also a concern. In recent years a major issue is the rule-of-law crisis in Poland and Hungary, in which the EP has been noted to take a much harder line than the Commission and Council. This issue has led to power struggles between EU institutions including an unprecedented lawsuit by the Parliament against the Commission but is not discussed in this article.
