Hi, I can see you're going ahead with the TfD resolution and converting all {{Motorsport season}} into {{Infobox motorsport season}} already. However, in doing so, some useful features of the former (which I mentioned in the TfD), namely the footings Parent series, Sister series and Support series, are being lost. See for example the before and after in DTM. What's your plan? MSport1005 (talk) 23:55, 29 August 2026 (UTC) Reply
- Will re-examine and find a better solution. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 02:16, 30 August 2026 (UTC) Reply
Please stop replacing Template:Motorsport season with Infobox:Motorsport season en masse. You are citing a TfD from eight months ago that ended with merge and rebuild (which was your suggestion) but this has not been done. The two are still very different looking at the documentation pages. The infobox, as far as I can tell, has no way to add support series (a heavily used section to aid navigation) and you are removing important information from the page by not replacing the champions categories. Did you ask anyone from the motorsport editing community before you began these changes? We don't want to have to clean up YOUR work by adding information back that you removed. - Mitchea99 (talk) 09:34, 30 August 2026 (UTC) Reply
- Ah, after posting I can see you have discussed this with MSport too, but only editing pages that don't use the footer section (which I think is what you're doing now?) doesn't solve the issue that the template is inadequate. The rest is still true. You also added it to 2014 Queensland Handball League season, so clearly things aren't being reviewed properly. - Mitchea99 (talk) 09:42, 30 August 2026 (UTC) Reply
- You need to chill out dude. I am CURRENTLY only doing pages that don't use the footer section while I figure out how to integrate the footer. As for 2014 Queensland Handball League season that page used Template:Motorsport season so I replaced it with the new template. It is not on me that the wrong template was used to begin with. The merge WAS performed over the course of nearly a dozen edits. It is not yet completed as I am still working on the footer section. - Just a heads-up — in some cases, such as this, you're deleting the champions, instead of adapting them to the new infobox. MSport1005 (talk) 16:27, 30 August 2026 (UTC) Reply
- @MSport1005: I had a bad regex in my first run which effed that up. I made a userscript that can automatically detect and replace deprecated parameters, which might be helpful to users reading your Unknown-params-warning. Cheers, m s k 20:30, 30 August 2026 (UTC) Reply
- That's awesome! Something to be careful of... What if the deprecated parameter is used in a different template on the page? Does it ONLY search within the code for the specific template? or does it find-replace in the entire page? Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 21:18, 30 August 2026 (UTC) Reply

Some suggested wording changes:
...Specifying {{para|some_param|{{var|some_variable}}}} does not always mean that variable will display. The {{para|some_param}} needs to be defined in the template in order to work. You can look at the documentation for the template being used, but it is also helpful to use the [[Help:Show preview|preview]] button before saving an edit; this helps find any errors that have been made and ensures that the values added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a ''Show preview'' button. Pressing this will show what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is highly recommended that editors use this before saving{{- removed

- Nah not worth the time or effort. People who use deprecated parameters 99.9% of the time it is because the documentation hasn't yet been updated. That's not a big issue. I've used the same process both on this account with manually clicking save and on ZackBot with auto-saving enabled to make over a half million edits. This is the first time I have seen this. My guess is that there was some sort of API hiccup and somehow it grabbed the info from Port Arthur Stadium instead. How/why that happened... Hi yet again @Zackmann08!
First, let me say thank you for the help in both ensuring I check my edits and the previous help with archiving (that tool you sent me is honestly amazing). The reason I am reaching out this time is to ask how to add more parameters to articles, specifically the pushpin maps and mapframes. I've been adding coordinates to geographical/location articles I've made, but wanted to maybe see if I could do a pushpin map as well. The problem is, like you mentioned previously, ensuring that I'm not inserting unknown parameters into articles.
For example, one article that you flagged was Ferenc Deák Bridge, though I'm stil a little confused as to what else was needed for the parameters to work properly. I was thinking to go back to that article and add a pushpin map or mapframe, but like I've said, I'm a little confused on what to do and how to do it properly.
Are you able to explain how to do this correctly? If so, what parameters do I have to have in order for it to become a known parameter? Is what I'm asking making sense?
Anyway, just wanted to ask for help on this first before trying to tackle it myself and eff it up unintentionally. Thanks again for any help you can provide :) Losipov (talk) 17:52, 3 September 2026 (UTC) Reply
- @Losipov: always happy to help. Thanks for coming to ask. This all depends on what Infobox is being used on the page. Using your example, Ferenc Deák Bridge, the Infobox in quesiton is {{Infobox bridge }}. Unfortunately that particular Infobox does not support pushpin maps (you will note that they are not mentioned anywhere in the documentation for Template:Infobox bridge) however mapframes ARE supported and that page already has a mapframe displayed. Is there another specific page that is lacking a mapframe/pushpin_map that we can use as an example? Happy to help you understand. I would also encourage you to use your SANDBOX (located at User:Losipov/sandbox) to experiment and see what works and what doesn't. At this point, with the exception of {{Infobox UK place }}, every Infobox on wikipedia that supports pushpin maps, uses the same pushpin parameters. So you can use
|pushpin_map=Worldto specify that you want to use the World map (for example). Every country is also supported (so|pushpin_map=Franceor|pushpin_map=India). Beyond that you have to do your research to find what other maps are available. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 23:22, 3 September 2026 (UTC) Reply

You started removal of the Nationality parameter from the Infobox person template about a year ago, in November 2025. I wasn't part of the discussion, but have a simple question:
How are we supposed to indicate the Nationality of an individual in the Person infobox when they are born in one country but claim another country as their nationality?
A perfect example of this is Helene Fischer, born in Russia but is German. There are hundreds of other individuals with similar situations. If someone assumes that the country a person is born in defines that person's nationality, they could be very wrong.
I can understand the removal of citizenship, but nationality is another more important aspect of an individual, and we wonder why it was removed after being part of the Person infobox for so many years.
Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 23:19, 4 September 2026 (UTC) Reply
- This is not the venue for such a discussion. Please start a thread at Template talk:Infobox person. Additionally, implying that I unilaterally started this removal is patently false. This was the result of a decision reached at multiple RFCs and is clearly stated in the MOS (MOS:INFONAT). If you have an issue with it, you should discuss it at one of those venues, not on my talk page. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 23:50, 4 September 2026 (UTC) Reply
- I never said you unilaterally started the removal, I simply repeated the first part of your edit summary of 9 November 2025.
- Further, I am not questioning the decision made to remove the nationality parameter. I am simply asking, now that it is gone, how do we let our readers know in the infobox (which is what they refer to most often) what the real nationality of a person is, rather than incorrectly (in many cases) letting them think that the person's birth location defines their nationality?
- When a parameter is deprecated, it is deprecated for one of several reasons:
- the actual text changes
- the parameter is essentially a duplicate of another parameter
- the parameter is not needed
- If I had to guess, the decision assumed a combination of items 2 and 3 and if that's the case, do you know what was the consensus about how nationality should be correctly identified to our readers after the nationality parameter is deprecated?
- Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 04:10, 5 September 2026 (UTC) Reply

Hi @Zackmann08, you reverted my edit on that article. I would like to know why. The TV Oost source used in the article doesn't mention a death date, as I explained. The only thing it says is "In Lebbeke is oud-wielrenner Wilfried Wesemael overleden.", which translates to "In Lebbeke, former cyclist Wilfried Wesemael has passed away." And the article was posted yesterday, on 4 September. If you have a reliable news source that does mention 2 September, please add it to the article. Otherwise, I kindly ask you to restore my version. Kind regards, Mondo (talk) 20:17, 5 September 2026 (UTC) Reply

- Hi @Zackmann08, it would've been nice if you had mentioned that in your edit summary, as now your edit summary was empty. Regardless, it seems like I only broke one small template in the infobox.
