I'm working on Draft:Ballroom Theatre, about an Estonian ballroom dance show. I should disclose upfront that I have a conflict of interest: I'm connected to the subject, and I've declared this on my user page and the relevant talk pages.

The draft was moved back to draftspace by a reviewer with the note that it needs more sources to establish notability. Since then I've cleaned up the wording and added a feature article from Estonian World.

I'd really appreciate an honest assessment: do you think the current sourcing is enough for the draft to pass AfC, or is it still short? And if it's short, what kind of sources should I be looking for — I want to understand what actually counts before I resubmit, rather than submitting too early.

The thing to do is check the protection status of the article - see Wikipedia:Protection policy §Summary table for more information - and only edit unprotected articles until you are more experienced: WP:AUTOCONFIRMED is the first milestone. Hi @Advraghav007. Before you get into writing new articles, I'd strongly recommend that you get some experience of just making edits to existing pages first: take a look at the suggested tasks page. However, if you're really keen to write an article from scratch, read through Help:Your first article first, then use the article wizard to guide you through the process. Some general suggestions from me:

• The most important thing is to gather the sources from which you'll write the article first. Don't be tempted to write the article up front and then find the sources to back it up, because that's difficult.
• Very generally, you will need three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject to demonstrate that the subject is sufficiently notable to warrant its own article. There's useful information about how to choose good sources and avoid bad sources here.
• Make sure you use your own words to write the article - don't plagiarise your sources, because copyright violations are taken seriously on Wikipedia.
• Don't use a chatbot or other kind of AI to generate an article - they don't do a good job at all, and your article will probably end up getting deleted.
• Use your sandbox to draft your article, rather than create it first off in mainspace. That will allow you to take your time. When it's ready, just move it to mainspace.

For photos, if they are your own, the best thing to do is upload them to Wikimedia Commons, and then link them from the article. Hi @Acjf. You can add information to an article if it is pertinent, and backed up by a reliable source. Just to comment on the edits you made

• Here, you have added external URLs into the body of the text, which is, in general, not permitted. An exception is sometimes made for external links to book titles in lists of works, though to avoid appearing promotional, an ISBN is better. Personally, I tend to include links to book titles only if there is a full version that is freely available, e.g. through the Internet Archive or something like that.
• Here, it would have been OK to include the updated URL to the book title, but you have done it as an inline citation. Though, as I said above, better to include the ISBN. I have edited the article to do just that.
• Here, the addition of a list of courses and links to those courses as inline citations may appear promotional to some. Better to include them in the External URLs section. I would personally only choose to include his final lecture at MIT: the article is not supposed to be a laundry list of the subject's online lectures.

Thanks. Still not sure if I am breaking any rules.

For example the four courses mentioned (e.g. Math 18.06, Math 18.06SC, Math 18.065, Math 18.085) are free video lectures (entire courses are free for anyone). They have been used by students around the world (20+ million views).

Question: Can they stay up, or should I remove them?

In "Books and monographs" I added ISBN's of books "Linear Algebra for Everyone" and "Linear Algebra and Learning from Data". Somehow the word "ISBN" is also coming under the hyperlink.

Question: Am I allowed to put ISBN's for the other books as well?

Disclosure: I have been working with Prof. Strang for the past 18 years, chiefly as a mathematical typesetter for his books.

If you are working with the subject, then you have a conflict of interest and should not be editing the article directly at all, but rather by means of edit requests on the talk page. On the ISBN front, you can make the letters ISBN not get linked by adding |link=no to the ISBN template, e.g. {{ISBN|978-1-7331466-7-8|link=no}} to the ISBN template. On the courses front - and I get that they are free - the questions you need to ask yourself are:

• Does the addition of those external links improve the article for the reader?
• Does the addition of those external links promote the subject in a way that is not permitted, e.g. by violating WP:NOTPROMO?

I suggest that you start by trying some of the "Suggested edits" that are linked on your talk page, or take a look at various tasks you could try. In terms of photos, I guess many topics just don't have suitable photos to use at the moment. One of the key things with pictures is that you must respect copyright, so it's not allowed to just find a picture on the Internet and re-use it here. And https://www.burford.oxon.sch.uk/enrichment/music is not that much use as a source, because it is not independent of the subject. Reading through that page, if the Artsmark Gold Award from the Arts Council was published somewhere with some text about the provision of music at the school, that is independent and would be much better as a source, both for article content and to contribute towards notability. I haven't done this before, but as the Detroit Windsor tunnel assigned person to do this I thought I would reach out. Any suggestion or thought are appreciated. I haven't drafted anything yet. However I can say that the Overview section is not correct and the note 3 doesn't support what is said. How do I know? I wrote that page too. anyways this is the section. Just looking to improve The tunnel has three main levels. The bottom level brings in fresh air under pressure, which is forced into the mid level, where the traffic lanes are located. Hello, apologies for the brief delay, I am writing regarding the school shootings in Turkey - particularly the 2026 Kahramanmaras school shooting as listed on tr.wikipedia.org (Turkish Wikipedia) The number of casualties the injury number has been mistaken and must be rectified to 13. Strictly according to the primary Turkish article on the attack (2026 Kahramanmara okul saldırısı) the number of individuals shot was indeed 13. The widely stated figure of 20 is also misleading as this number represents 7 other individuals who suffered injuries during the evacuations of the building by either jumping out of the window, or similar actions, these people did not directly receive gunshot wounds and are thus a direct product of the evcuation of the victims - they did not represent directly shot victims as the 13. For this article, to strictly reflect the Turkish documentation, it should be listed as 13 injuries as that is the only total as listed by official documentation for the attack itself. The corresponding article on English Wikipedia is 2026 Onikişubat school shooting. If you have a reliable published source that says there were 13 victims, I suggest you start a conversation on Talk:2026_Onikişubat_school_shooting to discuss how best to update/correct the article. My apologies for the misunderstanding, you are indeed right I'm referring to the English Wikipedia page (2026 Onikiubat school shooting), and yes, currently, it indicates that the injured toll stands at 20. I was mistaken to rely solely on the Turkish Wikipedia as a reference for that point. The figure of 13 injured has been corroborated by published sources and the Interior Minister’s official statement where he differentiated the casualty number of the attack itself from the aggregate total: Interior Minister Mustafa ifti indeed clearly stated on April 15, 2026: "We regret to report nine deaths (...) and 13 wounded." The 20 figure includes, as the Minister stated, an additional 7 individuals injured from jumping out of windows, who were not direct victims of shooting, which has also been reported by international sources like DW, CNN, and Daily Sabah when initially releasing the report. To align the infobox of the English article with the official Turkish document and the Interior Minister's definition of the shooting's death toll, I am requesting that the Injured field in the infobox be changed to "13" alone to match the Turkish article's content (so, without the "(13 by gunfire)" specification), since the additional 7 evacuation victims should be included as part of the narrative body of the article rather than as part of the total inflicted death count. I'm afraid this page will never be updated because it seems the comments from this user have very little to do with making the page better and more about calling me out for something I don't understand. I'm simply trying to understand and follow the rules to ensure the proper info is shared for this musician who has a very important history. Regarding the addition you made about his work with La Monte Young, I think that looks OK and it's generally backed up by the source. The quibbles I'd make are:

• the wording He became the only person to ever play the piece other than the composer, which is only backed up by the source if you added an as of 2003 qualifier or something like that. It is perhaps better reworded as He was the first person to play the piece other than the composer.
• Also, I don't think the source backs up the statement serving as Young's exclusive tuner for The Well Tuned Piano unless I'm missing something. The source does mention at least two other people as being involved from time to time, Jon Catler and Bob Bielecki, so exclusive isn't right, and should be reworded too.

No, I am not getting paid- if I were, I would know what I was doing. I am a grieving family member helping this Foundation give this man a proper wiki page and I didn't know when I started what constitued a conflict, but I certainly understand that one cannot exist. All of the people in that Foundation are volunteers, including his widow. I was just trying to help, her especially, but this may not be the appropriate project to work on at this time because responding to the comments is too difficult when dealing with the magnitude of this loss. As for Google Maps Streetview pictures, unless there is something very clear to the contrary, then Google as the creature of the image will own the copyright, so they are not free use images. It is a bit confusing! If you take "publish" to mean "save", you won't go wrong. I think the reason it says "publish" was a legal one: effectively you are "publishing" - that is, "making it public" - what you write, but it is not in the main article space, so you don't have to worry about it being unfinished. I may misunderstand the mission of Wikipedia. I and Dr. Van Nuland are the developers of this model. We are not looking to market, only to encourage learning, discussion, and adoption. Is Wikipedia only for topics that are taught in high school English and History classes? This model defines a stable, sustainable country or regional governance system. It was first published and copyrighted in our names in 2021. It is not like McGraw Hill college textbook division publishes textbooks about it yet. So, there are several difficulties with this. First and foremost, you have a conflict of interest with this topic, as you are a developer of the model in question. That means that you're discouraged from editing about it directly, as it will be difficult for you to maintain a neutral point of view. Second, Wikipedia is not the place to publish original research, or personal inventions. Before an article can be written, the topic needs to be discussed in several independent reliable sources. Second, you need to read the notability guidelines for companies, and in particular the reliable independent sources that are needed to establish a company's notability. You are a long way from having those at the moment. Third, some of the formatting looks very strange. Did you use an LLM to help you write some or all of the draft? @Miali Pk, I think you can go ahead and edit the article, unless there is a reason why you shouldn't. Have you been told in the past that you are restricted from editing the article? Anyway, if you do decide to go ahead, I suggest you do it in small chunks: pick one reliable source, and gradually add in the information from that. Then do the next. Always try to use the best sources: a few really good ones are much better than lots and lots of mediocre ones. Don't do huge changes in one edit. And let me know if you have any more questions. Hi, thanks again for your earlier advice.

I did as per your suggestion and did making small, well-sourced improvement to the article "Mohra Sharif".

It is visible on talk page that before editing i opened discussion there and proposed changes. After waiting some days there was no feedback, as per your valuable guidance I went ahead and updated only a small part of the article using independent historical sources and Punjab Government publications.

Later, another editor made a number of changes to the article, and an experienced editor cleaned up the page. During that process, my location update was reverted to the previous version, and the {{cn}} tag I had added for the current custodian statement was also removed.

I'm not sure what the best next step is, so I wanted to ask for your advice, please:

a). Should I now wait for discussion on the Talk page before making any further edits?

b). For updating the administrative location, would current Punjab Government records carry more weight than historical books and tourism publications?

c). Also, if a statement is supported only by a source that doesn't seem to verify the exact claim (for example, a website about a different shrine), is it better to raise that on the Talk page rather than changing or removing the statement?

I am still learning how to handle situations like this and want to make sure I follow Wikipedia's policies properly. Hi @Miali Pk. Just on the administrative location, I saw that after your edit, the references in the body of the article were not properly formatted: see . The [6] and [7] should I think be properly formatted citations, and they are not. That is probably why your update was reverted. I would say that normally locations are not terribly controversial - after all, the shrine does not move.

On the point about a statement being supported only by a source that doesn't seem to verify the exact claim, you have a number of options. You could try and find a source that does verify the claim, and add that. Or, if you have reliable sourcing that means you can correct the claim, do that (adding the references at the same time). Or you can use the {{Failed verification }} template next to the source in question. There is a |reason= parameter that you can use to say briefly why you do not think that the source verifies the claim, or a |talk= parameter to link to a talk page discussion if it needs more explanation. I think that the important thing to learn from this is that sources are really important. Without having good sources to write an article from, it's very difficult to show that the subject is notable. Now, I do think that Flora of Samoa is probably a notable subject - after all, an entire book has been written on them, so if you want to proceed with it, look for some others that discuss the Flora of Samoa as a whole, and then write some content based on them. So articles about individual species are generally reviewed quicker, because it is usually straightforward to say that they are notable through WP:NSPECIES. Draft:Flora of Samoa is covered by the general notability guideline so it takes longer to analyse the sources to confirm that they demonstrate the subject's notability. Just be patient! Thanks! I was mostly curious because of the two zero-width spaces in the wikisource. I've seen some hints that Google Translate may be prone to adding them (but I've also seen some signs that other LLMs may also do this). I also looked for an alternative live one, but couldn't find one that was suitable. There was a great user-generated site about all sorts of Chinese administrative divisions and their history, but obviously not usable here. THanks for being assigned my mentor. Long time wiki user, first time signed up. I appreciate reading the starter content I cannot create an entry for something I am connected/associated with due to conflict of interest.

I run in Australia the Mornington Peninsula Record Fair - and event running since 2020. I wanted to try and get a WIKI article done for us (we have links to official AU tourism sites, community radio and a stack of other references). We are not a business, but a community event for vinyl record lovers.

There are many more...but as we run 2-3 events every year, we have to upload new marcomms material for each event. Old listings are removed. This is the same for events (annual or more) and historic markets etc all over Australia.

Hi Scott. Unfortunately I don't think these are sufficient, because they are not really independent. That is, they are all written or broadcast by people associated with the fair. Just to be clear. If I make a journalist(s) or news sites aware of our event - but offer no inducement to attend, no paid placement and/or no involvement in any written piece in National/State/Local piece about our event - and said journalist(s) have no affiliation to me or the event, I can submit these as independant.

Not having this yet (there was a write-up in a local paper which I can't find), I can submit this if it happens at the next fair?

AND - of course if it were to happen, if it contributes to a listing at Wikipedia - then that does not preclude that article being used subsequently by my event as part of our coverage for future events?

Appreciate the clarification so I can be certain of what is required for a case to be assessed for an entry - and what the later implications of having an entry are with anything used to support said entry!

If the review is truly independent, as you describe in the first para, then it should be able to contribute towards notability. Generally speaking, you'll need three of those to justify a standalone article. And there would be no problem with using the review for any other purposes. Hi @LocoPM. So the thing about Wikipedia is that it is entirely built on what reliable sources say about a subject, not on what individual editors know about a subject. I suggest that you start by reading the information about conflicts of interest, as, being the former product manager, you are very likely to be conflicted. Then, you are probably in a great position to suggest reliable sources for the topic, and how they might be woven into the existing article, and I suggest you start a conversation on the relevant article's talk page about that. What is the company or brand that you would like to write about? You will need at least three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject to draft an article.
