Welcome to Wikipedia! I do not anticipate any problems with edits like these; however, given that your username indicates you are affiliated to NVR in some way I strongly recommend you visit this page and make yourself familiar with what it says. I hope this helps. -- Scjessey (talk) 19:47, 27 March 2012 (UTC) [reply ]
Hi, thanks for sharing this, I have taken some time to review. I am just trying to get the page updated with some more recent information, recently we have won some ENERGY STAR awards and we no longer operate under the name Rymarc Homes. I took a stab at rewriting some of the content for this page, all factual. I wanted to upload it, but in order to be safer rather than sorry I would like to have you review it and then you can let me know if you think there would be any issues with me updating the page to read as I pasted below. Please let me know your thoughts, thanks!
NVR, Inc. NVR, Inc. (NYSE: NVR) is a United States real estate development company headquartered in Reston, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC. It owns and operates companies in the homebuilding and mortgage banking industries. The homebuilding unit constructs and sells homes under the Ryan Homes, NVHomes, and Fox Ridge Homes trade names. (The Rymarc Homes trade name was discontinued in February 2012; Rymarc Homes is now Ryan Homes.) The mortgage banking unit is called NVR Mortgage.[1]
Homebuilding Through its three homebuilding brands, NVR is active in twenty-six metropolitan areas in fifteen states and the District of Columbia, with homes and communities in Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia (as well as the nation’s capital).[1]
Ryan Homes Founded in 1948, Ryan Homes was originally established to provide affordable housing in the growing economy after World War II.[1] Ryan Homes has constructed more than 300,000 homes, mostly in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.[2]
NVHomes Established in 1979, NVHomes operates primarily in the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore metropolitan areas, including Northern Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and eastern Pennsylvania.[3]
Rymarc Homes Founded in 1982, Rymarc Homes serves the Columbia, South Carolina market, primarily targeting first-time homebuyers. The Rymarc Homes trade name was discontinued in February 2012; Rymarc Homes is now Ryan Homes.[4]
Fox Ridge Homes Founded in 1961, Fox Ridge Homes is one of the largest homebuilders in central Tennessee, primarily serving the needs of first-time and first-time-move-up homebuyers.[4]
NVR also operates manufacturing facilities in Maryland, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Tennessee that supply structural building components to these companies’ various job sites.[1]
ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy designed to reduce energy consumption and encourage environmentally responsible building practices.[5] Because its new homes adhere to strict ENERGY STAR guidelines, NVR was named an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year in 2011 and again in 2012. Every new home constructed by Ryan Homes and NVHomes is 100 percent ENERGY STAR Qualified.[2][3] According to the EPA, ENERGY STAR homes are typically 20–30 percent more efficient than standard homes.[6]
Mortgage banking NVR, Inc., offers mortgage banking services to NVR homebuyers through its wholly owned subsidiary, NVR Mortgage. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, NVR Mortgage operates out of regional offices located in the metropolitan areas in which NVR’s homebuilding companies are active. An affiliated company called NVR Settlement Services provides settlement and title services support to NVR Mortgage customers.[7]
NVR Mortgage has provided lending services for over forty years, exclusively on new home construction for buyers of Ryan Homes, NVHomes, Rymarc Homes, and Fox Ridge Homes. The firm originates its own loans and maintains a working relationship with investor and regulatory groups that insure and securitize those loans, such as Fannie Mae, FHA, and the Veterans Administration.[7]
Delaware lawsuit The attorney general of Delaware, Beau Biden, and his office filed a 39-count consumer fraud lawsuit against NVR, Inc., while doing business under the "Ryan Homes" name.[8][9] Ryan Homes staff were alleged to have made false statements about the development of various community amenities in the specific development according to the complaints filed. The case was settled on April 1, 2010.[10]
