Your submission at Articles for creation: Essex Coroner Kidnapping Plot (December 26)
[edit ]This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of events). Your submission at Articles for creation: Essex Coroner Kidnapping Plot (January 18)
[edit ]- Hi @Josedimaria, thanks for your review - I would appreciate your feedback on this. The subject was covered by local newspapers at the time. A review of the sources show more than just passing mentions of the unsuccessful plot to kidnap a local government official. I'd appreciate your guidaice, specifically how do you feel I am missing the mark on this one? Salimfadhley (talk) 13:14, 19 February 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Are you just seeing it after 30 days?
- There are several reasons:
- Another reason why this draft was rejected is that unsuccessful assassinations or kidnappings are not notable on Wikipedia unless of a high degree or involves personalities who have a page on Wikipedia - it is not similar to an assassination/kidnapping plot of a popular world leader (US, Australia, Brazil) that would draw worldwide attraction.
- Lastly, why the article is "rejected" is because the victim of the kidnapping plot does not even have a page on Wikipedia which otherwise would have qualified for a merge.
- If you feel my reasons are not sufficient enough, you can put it up for discussion at the request section. Jõsé hola 19:48, 19 February 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- No, that's perfectly reasonable, I was just looking to understand what standard you are applying. It's clearly not the same as an assassination of a world leader, this was a small crime which was widely reported but only on national media. Could you kindly link me to the policy that supports this idea, as I am not familiar with it: "assassinations or kidnappings are not notable on Wikipedia unless of a high degree or involves personalities who have a page on Wikipedia". Thank you. Salimfadhley (talk) 10:27, 20 February 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
