Hi Ian, The Wikimania program had many sessions regarding AI. There was even a well-received one day fringe event focused on tools development. Hi Jack.riley03. If there's an article for which you have a conflict of interest, then:

• First, deal with the Conflict of interest:

• Declare/Explain it on your userpage; this is your userpage. Examples of conflict of interest include, the page is your autobiography, the page is the biography of your nephew, your father is the lead singer of the band, you wrote the novel, etc.
• If your conflict of interest includes being paid to make the recommendation(s), e.g., you're the employee, or you work for a PR company, etc., you are required to also make a paid contribution disclosure on your userpage.

• Do not edit the article/page in question.
• On the article's talkpage, add suggested edits (e.g., "Remove this sentence ...; add this paragraph ...) and include secondary, independent, reliable sources for each fact you are addressing.
• After writing on the article's talkpage, be patient. Depending on the article, there may be a lot or very few editors who are pagestalkers. Pagestalkers may (a) review your recommendations, (b) not bother reviewing what you wrote, (c) make all/some/none of the changes, (d) give their opinion about what you are suggesting, (e) not communicate at all.

Hello. I have disclosed a conflict of interest concerning the Soruklu surname and related historical names, and I have submitted COI edit requests on the English and Turkish Sarıdibek talk pages rather than editing the articles directly.

The proposed additions rely on two independent published sources: one identifies Sarıdibek by its former name, Soruk, while the other presents the Soruk Bey account explicitly as local tradition ("rivayet"). I deliberately excluded sixteenth-century Sorukderesi records because no source I found explicitly identifies that settlement with modern Sarıdibek.

Could you please assess whether this is the correct policy-compliant approach under WP:COI, WP:SYNTH, WP:V and WP:DUE? If the requests receive no response, what is the proper next step for requesting independent review without forum-shopping or canvassing?

I would also appreciate your view on whether a future standalone article about Soruk or Soruklu would require independent secondary sources that discuss that exact subject in depth, rather than combining separate sources about the place name, historical people and linguistic forms.

I can address your points regarding EN-WP but the Turkish Wikipedia is outside my area of expertise.

I see your conflict of interest (COI) statement on the Sarıdibek, Vezirköprü talkpage. You've done this correctly. Note that there have been only 6 pageviews of the article in the last 30 days, so I would recommend patience in waiting for someone to respond there. Of course, it's also possible that no one (we're all volunteers) will respond and/or act on your comment.

Your userpage (User:Serhat Soruklu) was deleted in April 2025 on the grounds of "Misuse of Wikipedia as a web host". So whatever you wrote there is now gone. (I'm an Admin. I could check, but I haven't.)

I see a lot of information about you on your talkpage; was this originally on your userpage?

The Sarıdibek, Vezirköprü article is about a neighborhood (area) whose historical name might be the same or similar to yours. Ergo, the answer to your question seems complex. Regarding my deleted user page, I understand the concern and I have no intention of using Wikipedia as a personal profile or web host. My focus here is simply to handle the historical material and my COI correctly.

I also appreciate the distinction you make between the Sarıdibek article and the surname itself. I’ll continue treating any broader Soruk/Soruklu subject cautiously and won’t try to infer a connection merely from similar names.

How much I can find on someone is often a case of where I am geo-located when I'm doing the research. I remember years ago having several tabs open with good references (e.g., lots of info) for a biography I had started to create. Then I flew to Berlin for a wiki conference. That night, in my hotel room, I wanted to get back to working on the biography, but when I tried to open the references I had accessed when I was living in Las Vegas, it was "Snippet view" or "No preview". That might be the case with the biography you've drafted? It's possible that where you and/or I live, we can't access much, but where Ian lives, he was able to access additional references, which is why he suggested her?

Others who might have access to additional references are: @Alacoolwiki and Nattes à chat (French speakers) as well as MumphingSquirrel (who has specialized in the Eiffel Women so might have access to some books). Last but not least, the Women in Red talkpage is always a good place to ask for help with referencing.

I think this calls for a word of explanation from me. I simply noticed that in the article Femmes et Sciences which Victuallers created under the Eiffel Women project, the only contributor without a biography was Françoise Cyrot-Lackmann. As BP had done a pretty good job on Françoise Gaspard, I thought she might be able to extend her interest to DCL. For additional coverage, I often draw on the Wikipedia Library, especially pertinent sections such as Newspaper archives (not working at the moment], Jstor and Science. For Frecnh people, it is sometimes also useful to search Gallica. I'm afraid I'm pretty tied up at the moment so will leave further research to others but even a lean article along the lines already drafted would be useful. I have been trying to improve/edit the Women's Entrepreneurship Day wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_Entrepreneurship_Day for a while now, by sourcing reliable third party sources as best I can and trying to write in a neutral manner. However, the page was proposed for deletion, multiple users deleted most of the information on the page, and made multiple claims on my behalf on the lines of LLM and COI which are not true. (b) If you are using an LLM on content pages and/or talkpages, stop. If you used it and stopped, good. If you never used it, good. In any case, address the issue in on your talkpage and the article talkpage in the sections where it was brought up. (c) Continue to engage in dialogue regarding how to improve the article on the article's talkpage. (d) Drmies is a well-respected member of the EN-WP community, so I encourage you to work with them as best as you can to reach agreement on the points where it's possible to do so.

(a) Nine of the ten sources in the draft are primary sources instead of independent, secondary, reliable sources required by Wikipedia. (b) Have you assurred that the draft meets Wikipedia's notability requirements for organizations? (c) Currently, the draft is mostly in list format, rather than in {{Prose }} (list format is good for webpages, but is not encyclopedic style).

Hi Gopao and welcome to Wikipedia. No worries that you don't see any errors.

Besides fixing errors, there are others things you can do, e.g., add wikilinks, adding categories, expanding the lede section of an article, etc.

Start by looking at articles within some category that interests you, e.g., Category:California, Category:Soccer, Category:Naval ships, Category:Lakes, Category:Novel stubs, Category:Magician duos, etc. Some of the articles within every category will be better than others. Some will be more fleshed out than others. Some will be kinda bad. If you focus on a category that has articles that interest you, you'll start noticing the differences, and you might feel inclined to improve those articles.
