I love that you've contributed to Wikipedia some with geographical photos of roads. I implore you to do more when able. If you see my Wikimedia contributions, I've done ~1,000 mostly local geographical photos and Route 111 was on my list, now I can check it off. Thanks and it's appreciated. - @SamuelNelsonGISP No problem I took these about a month and a half ago and just got around to uploading them. I just happened to be in that area that day with my camera. I do a lot of this style of photography nationwide but mostly in Kansas or Missouri. - Well, the three main types of articles I focus on are Rivers, Highways, and settlements. Unincorporated communities in Missouri has 1600+ articles without pictures and many of these places have a church, cemetery, old downtown, or MODoT sign that could make a standard picture see here. Just look up your county and next time you drive a certain direction try to stop a few times along the way. My area in NW Missouri has been pretty well saturated with pictures from me this way. (Jackson County, Cass County is next on my list) I added images Here, Here, and Here there is more I have uploaded i just haven't added yet. Thank you for the fun project for my spare time. - Quick question, besides churches and street signs what other structures should I be looking out for when visiting these communities? There where a couple that I went to recently that all that was there were houses, and sometimes a railway intersection. for example Cockrell, Missouri was mostly just houses, there might have been some kind of a bar I don't really remember and then the large sign on Route 50 that I used in the article. That one wasn't to bad but then there was Hicks City, Missouri which was just houses and the coordinates here on Wikipedia is just someones driveway, same with Lone Tree, Missouri. - You make a good point, and it does get difficult to have a good picture if there are not good subjects. For Lone Tree, I might take a picture at the intersection of E 299th and Main, as it could be rightly captioned: Main Street of Lone Tree, which is a notable and representative enough photo for the encyclopedia, short of that, maybe the intersection of the railroad just besides could work with the caption, Railroad name junction at Lone Tree, Missouri. I did something like this for Nishnabotna, Missouri.
- As for Hicks City, there may be nothing there with any relation to Hicks City. Sometimes settlements really have no trace, I don't think that is an unincorporated community but rather and extinct community/former populated place. They don't always get photos. For McCurry, Missouri, all I got was an old street sign (not a major MoDOT one), which was only near the site of the settlement, not at it. A few near me have genuinely nothing extant to take a photo of, so I don't. Kings Grove, Missouri, Dotham, Missouri, Xenia, Missouri. Some places are too old, too small, or had nothing of note even when they existed so there is no trace. We cannot do much about that unfortunately.
- I tend to plan potential places to visit ahead of time that have a church, cemetery, community hall, major infrastruture (like Bedison, Missouri), and only go to them. If there isn't a worthy photo to take, I don't try to force it, though I've toyed with the idea of a 'site of' photo, one at the location where the settlement was even though there is nothing extant.

- I went back exploring this morning and was in lone tree again and added an image to that but i also have these other images that I took while there 1 and 2 is the one I have added suitable or would the others work better? - Great job exploring.
- A few suggestions or considerations:
- When infobox settlement exists for a populated place, it's best to put a photo there is there is not already a photo. If you have more than one you can put the rest in the body of the article (often aligning left can look better than the default align right which puts it right below the infobox). Alternatively, you can put multiple images in the infobox. I always try to put the nicest or most notable photo in the infobox, so with West Line I moved the church image there instead of the community building. When there is no infbox I always put the image before the first paragraph, it usually renders alongside it and stretches into lower sections. I think that is more standard, particularly for short articles, than putting the photo lower in the article (I did that change in Jaudon for example).
- Another cool way to find even more, and more interesting, sites or features to photograph is using wiki-map (my link goes to Cass County, and look for other sites, historic homes, or perhaps political townships that have no picture where a rural church, cemetery, or township hall could be the photo.
