Hello, PoisonHK,
Why did you tag this category as a speedy rename? It's empty and it's not even listed at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Speedy#Current requests so the tag is incorrect. Just untag this category, tag it for deletion as an empty category, CSD C1, and create a new category with the name you now want. Liz Read! Talk! 02:21, 8 May 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Heroes of the Nation
[edit ]A tag has been placed on Category:Heroes of the Nation indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 15:49, 8 May 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

[edit ]Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Belgorod. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Mellk (talk) 15:13, 30 May 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
- To elaborate, when you are reverted for adding unsourced information, the logical next step would be to include a reliable source. Wikipedia is not a reliable source so saying that the relevant information is present in another article is not sufficient. The article could be written by anyone, see WP:CITEWIKI. Mellk (talk) 19:16, 30 May 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
- In this case, the article you are referring to was written by someone who is now indeffed for POV pushing and socking. That article, like the others they wrote which contained misinformation, contains a lot of unsourced claims and original research nor is there anything there that directly supports what you added. Of course adding this three times when this is a core policy is not a good sign. Mellk (talk) 19:17, 30 May 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
- Also I have seen you add the citation needed tag in the lead of multiple articles for statements that are already sourced in the article body. See MOS:LEADCITE and avoid doing this in future please. Mellk (talk) 19:19, 30 May 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

[edit ]Is there a reason you did not follow the consensus on the spelling of Kiev/Kyiv in this edit? Mellk (talk) 11:07, 27 August 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
- So is the consensus in a nutshell is using Kiev in topics before 1991? MykolaHK (talk) 12:27, 27 August 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
From 24 August 1991 (Ukrainian independence), Kyiv is likely to be appropriate
From October 1995 (Resolution of the Ukrainian Commission for Legal Terminology No. 5), Kyiv is presumptively appropriate subject to specifics of the article
.
- As a result, I would imagine that WW2 would fall under "unambiguously historical". But in future if you are unsure, then it may be best to seek clarification at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (Ukrainian places). Thanks. Mellk (talk) 12:37, 27 August 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

- Well according to Blanter, settlements in Ukraine should have been put Russian names if there's history of theirs even though there's no current speakers, I have no comment on that. But I do think the same logic applies here. MykolaHK (talk) 05:28, 6 September 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

The article Yellow Russia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Yellow Russia as a concept beyond what Ilya Levitov coined was scantly explored, there is no indication that Russian policymakers ever planned to adopt Levitov's Yellow Russia idea. The notion that it was a thought-out project of the Russian Empire appears stem from a sock-puppet account on the Chinese Wikipedia using questionable sources that may have incorrectly interpreted Levitov's ideas as official policy. In additional to the original article on CNWiki being created by a sock-puppet, the map present on this page was created by another sock-puppet account, further indicating that this page was created to spread misinformation. Given the actual term of Yellow Russia and its relevance ends with Levitov himself, the article ought to be deleted and Yellow Russia be relegated to only being a segment on Levitov's page.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Help with Ukrainian political parties pages
[edit ]Hi Mykola, thanks for your work on Ukraine-related pages in zh and en wikipedias. I'm working on political pages in Ukraine right now, including for {{Ukrainian political parties }}, but found some pages missing. Specifically, there are no pages in uk wiki for Volodymyr Buryak's party (active in Zaporizhzhia), nor does it have one for Oleksandr Vilkul's party (active in Dnipro). I need your help because I don't speak Ukrainian, so I need someone who does to work on these pages. Would you be willing to help with writing? Thanks! TeddyRoosevelt1912 (talk) 04:57, 11 March 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Thanks for notifying, but sadly I think my Ukrainian is not that good enough to write an article’s quality as good enough as the current party articles. I also got an issue on my WiFi and IP which made me unable to edit ENWP that freely. I think it would be much better to let the native users here to do the job. — MykolaHK (talk) 09:54, 12 March 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- @MykolaHK: Sorry didn't see this (please @ me if possible), no worries at all! I just thought you would be interested since you tend to know a lot about Ukraine-related topics, and also sorry about the wifi issue, hope it's fixed soon. Well, if there's anything you need help with, always feel free to ask me! Cheers, TeddyRoosevelt1912 (talk) 22:05, 20 March 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
