- i was trying to fix the old version of "the early medieval history of the balkans" to
- a better version since i felt that i was wrong by keeping the original source, so i therefore wanted to add a "source"
- template where i can store the "references" there, so i was trying to replace the older version of "Fine, John Van Antwerp (1991). The Early Medieval Balkans: A Critical Survey from the Sixth to the Late Twelfth Century" with the new version i discovered "John Van Antwerp (1994). The Late Medieval Balkans: A Critical Survey from the Late Twelfth Century to the Ottoman Conquest" Conquest" Arxyium (talk) 17:08, 18 January 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Hello!
[edit ]Hello Arxyium, I'm reaching out to ask if you'd want me to assist with building the draft:Battle of Caesarea (781) article to get it mainspace ready. I can add to the content of the article and provide secondary sources to meet WP:RS standards if that would be helpful to you. Thanks for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anarawd ap Rhodri (talk • contribs) 00:04, 28 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

- Caesarea page should now be mainspace-ready as it has been sourced and written out. You can move Caesarea to a mainspace article when you are ready to. I've included links to your draft articles on the battle of Gemanikea and the 779 Abbasid Asia Minor Campaign in the background section for when these pages are completed in the future. I can help with those drafts too if you want. Anarawd ap Rhodri (talk) 16:13, 29 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

- I have moved siege of Ancyra page to Mainspace, but if possible can you add the source and reference for the section on the siege itself "Unable to breach the defenses, the siege ended in a Abbasid failure. Suffering from logistical exhaustion & lack of heavy siege engines with the combination of the incoming cold weather in the autumn. The Abbasids under Thumama were forced to break the siege in 777." Most of the sources I have say Thumama invaded as far as Ancyra but they don't go into detail on the siege itself and the length of the siege like this.
- Kind regards Anarawd ap Rhodri (talk) 10:01, 7 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
- I was wrong on that part, i kinda confused it with the details of the 779 campaign, neither Al-Tabari or Theophanes the Confessor go into detail of this siege. Arxyium (talk) 01:39, 8 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
- Also, do you think it’s necessary for a Article like the "Rashidun Invasions of Asia Minor" & "Umayyad Invasions of Asia Minor" since it seems many articles are already made on the "Abbasid Invasions of Asia Minor" but just not its own single article as a whole, at this point if it ever comes to that i might just call the possible article "Arab invasions of Asia Minor" including all three Caliphates. Arxyium (talk) 11:05, 9 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
- Potentially a "catch-em-all" article like that could be useful in the future, but since there are so many recorded invasions into Asia minor between the Umayyads and Abbasids (with some even occurring during the late Rashidun era), for now i'd say its best to have separate articles dealing with the different invasions.
